MANCHESTER, Tortola, VI - Our news desk can now confirm that the shooting victim gunned down early this morning May 27, 2023, in the area of Manchester, on Tortola has been identified as Vicardo Farrell aka ‘scar’ originally from Greenland, in Eastern End of Tortola.

His next of kin has been informed and police are actively investigating the latest shooting incident in the Virgin Islands for 2023 as it brings to 4, the number of residents gunned down.

Previous shooting deaths for 2023 included Yan Edwards who was fatally shot at a bar in Parham Town around 6:00 PM on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Less than a week later on Sunday, February 12, 2023, Jahkeem Christopher, 23, a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadians was killed with VI's third shooting death victim identified as Kemo A. Lettsome, who was shot dead on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

As more information is available on the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Farrell our new center will be the first to bring you the most accurate and timely information.

We at Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) offer our condolences to the immediate family and loved ones of  Mr. Vicardo Farrell.

Male dead in early morning shooting @ Manchester – RVIPF

MANCHESTER, Tortola, VI – Information coming into Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that a male was this morning May 27, 2023, killed in a shooting in Manchester, Tortola. 

Police sources in a statement confirmed the shooting death while adding that the RVIPF Major Crime Team is leading the investigations.

No further information was released at the time, our new center will bring more details as it becomes available.

              You know what really really bothers me. They can't wait to reach here but yet when they GET HERE they talk fork. We are the worse. On a real though, they commit crimes back in their homeland and who they have here be it friend or another relative, encourage them to jump a damn plane and come to the BVI. They come through immigration with faces and voices like babies but the heart and minds of criminals.       You don’t know why we love our BVI? Our place of birth? Let me tell you something, we were a peaceful pleasant Island until the trash started washing up on and was allowed to stay on our shores. Most of the people that is running to the BVI have criminal back grounds and they are welcome with out being vetted or a back ground check. We all know the ones that is pulling the triggers is from T & J. Tortola opened Pandora’s box when every Harry, Dick and Tom was allowed to enter the BVI. If one is issued a 6 month work permit, after the 6 months is up they have to leave, don’t allow them to get lost in the system, keep track of these people.

Persons coming here seeking employment may be contributing to crimes yes but they are by no means the caused and reason for the increased crime and deaths. Greed is, along with persons lack of begin content with what they are making. Another contributing factor is laziness. Many want to live of a celebs. Want to be flashing wear the latest brands and party like a rock star. Some want to have business to say the have with know knowledge of the area.(cleaning dirty money).
