VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- After narrowly losing to Up to Da time, 72-74, in Game 4 Friday night, November 25, 2022, Set It Off have rebounded to take game 5 and with it the title of 2022 Summer Jam Champions.

They defeated Up 2 Da Time, 78-73, at A. Jeffrey Caines Arena on Virgin Gorda Saturday night, November 26, 2022.

Set It Off, which featured star players like Ray D. Victor and Stephano K. Paul, were coached by former national player Kennedy H. Bass.

Set It Off vs Up To The Time to clash in VG Summer Jams 2022 Finals

The curtains will go down tonight, Saturday, November 26, 2022, as the Virgin Gorda (VG) Summer Jams finals will see top teams ‘Up to the Time’ and ‘Set It Off’ clash for the winning title. 

This comes following the team 'Time 2 Wuk' took the Jr Championship Title in a heated game against the 'Jr Skillful Ballers' last evening, Friday, November 25, 2022.  

The highly anticipated game is set at roughly 9:00 pm tonight at the Jeffrey Caines Arena on Virgin Gorda, tournament committee member Mark Noel told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) in an interview.

Describing the games as the ultimate excitement on VG, Mr Noel said, “It’s going to be a nail-biter [and] one for the books."…

He said the two teams are expected to clash point by point till the last second of the game.

Highly anticipated games! 

Admission to the games is the usual $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 12, with late ferries available for tonight's finals.

Mr Noel sent advanced congratulations to the winner and added, ‘After no Summer Jam since 2017, we had ups and downs but thanks for sticking it out and for the great sportsmanship for sure.”

He said his hope is that the 2022 winner will defend their championship in the new year. 

Meanwhile, it is expected that Speedy’s Ferry will operate a 6:30 service to VG, however, Mr Noel also indicated that Ferry service will be operating a 9:00 pm trip to VG along with another to Beef Island at 12:30 am following the games.
