MAIN STREET, Tortola, VI - It was on August 1, 2023, that residents in the area discovered a body in an abandoned house in upper main street close to the Methodist Church burial grounds, in Road Town, on the main island of Tortola.

While no official announcement has been made of the identity of the body by the authorities, our news center can confirm through highly placed sources and family members familiar with the matter, that the deceased male is Mr. Brian Odean Rhymer aka ‘Herbalist’. 

He was 52 years old having been born on 20, March 1971.   

His family has since announced funeral preparations. 

It is still unclear the cause of death, as Mr. Rhymer's death certificate has not been seen by our newsroom.

3 weeks later: Partially decomposed body still not ‘officially’ identified- Police

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Nearly four weeks after a partially decomposed body was discovered in an abandoned building at Upper Main Street in Road Town, the body has still not been “officially” identified.

It was on August 1, 2023, that the discovery was made, and police had said early investigations were revealing no evidence to suggest foul play.

To date, however, the body has not been officially identified.

Police in a brief response to our question today about whether progress has been made in identifying the body, said: “Progress has been made yes but, unfortunately, the body still remains unidentified officially.”

Our news center will bring more information as it becomes available.

      Ummm we all no who it is and his family is aware. officially as in dental records etc. We friends and family are waiting for the police so we can have the funeral

    I could have sworn everyone said that body is Bryan Rhymer.
    If it is not Bryan Rhymer's body, then the question is where is Bryan Rhymer and who else in the BVI is missing a family or a friend for the pass three weeks and haven't reported it as yet.

    They got to have rhymer. Only he slept there. I feel his body is just badly decomposed. Is why it's taking so long to identify the body . Shockingly if not rhymer is missing
