"Officers of Royal Virgin Islands Police Force recaptured escaped prisoner Germaine Sebastian this evening in the Vanterpool Estate area," the RVIPF briefly said minutes ago, November 1, 2021.

Manhunt continues for prison escapee Germaine Sebastian
Information coming out of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is that officers are still on the hunt for prison escapee Germaine Sebastian and is seeking the public’s help to locate him.
Police have also indicated that persons found facilitating or harbouring Sebastian will be charged.
The RVIPF in a release this afternoon, November 1, 2021, said Prison officials have indicated that Sebastian made his escape as he was leaving the prison farm and re-entering the main entrance gate around 11:00 am on Saturday and was seen running in the direction of Hawks Nest.
Escapee last resided in East End Tortola
“Sebastian, 40, is about 5’9, dark in complexion, and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He last resided in the East End area and is most familiar with individuals living in that area,” the release said.
Acting Assistant Commissioner St. Clair Amory has indicated that while members of the public may feel sympathetic towards Sebastian, it is vital for his safety and that of the public that he is quickly recaptured.
Sebastian was in prison serving a life sentence handed down by the court.
Persons with information about his whereabouts are asked to call the RVIPF at 311 or any Police Station or the Force’s Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
