On another note as we await the findings, I have my concerns about those particular types of buses on steep, wet, slippery winding roads in general. This just appear to so top heavy and not best suited to transport passengers in such road environments. My concern is also for school children who ride such buses daily, at times overloaded with children cramped and standing. Believe it or not, sometimes at ridiculous speeds too. I constantly pray for their safety and that something like this will never occur.
condolences to the family of those lost, I pray that all others do well health wise.
why this foolish A$$ blog, people of the world, I apologies on behalf of the bvi
Real Virgin Islanders didn't have to worry bout nonsense like that till y'all half breed down islanders come up here working it so instead of blaming our government .... Blame you people
Inbreeding?! I am from two original families of the VI and we have no inbreeding in our ranks! Your hungry sk**t trying to justify your migration to the BVI for the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR (US)!
People think out loud before you scribble. Have you not heard of the latest health trends - it is not so that our elders are passing alarmingly, it's us -- we are now the face of the many death stricken health issues and crisises. Do you think that because you drive a brand new vehicle you are less accident prone than me in my used one or do you feel it's because your vehicle was serviced and provided with a clean bill of health you are 'safe' -- none of these things are guaranteed and it only takes a second or for a mishap or more so the force of nature and human inability when faced with a dire situation. I don't know and neither do you so I wish not to speculate or judge anyone.
It's very sad that this has happened and I extend my condelences to the family and friends of those that lost their lives and hope that no one else succumbs as a result. Also speedy recovering and best wishes to all those that may have endured physical I have the formula and mentally.
We need to stop speculating and speaking negatively and to understand that no one knows their faith, not even in an attempted suicide.
We're praying for everyone and these beautiful VI.

FOR THE SHORT PERIOD OF TIME ONLY TOURIST YOU HEAR DYING IN THE BVI
THAT IS BAD THE TOUR INDUSTRY AND THEN WHEN THE SHIPS WILL STOP COMING CAUSE OF THIS THE @#$%^& GOVERNMENT WILL START TO CRY THEIR @$$ THAT THE TOUR INDUSTRY IS DOING NO GOOD, ALL THIS IS HAPPENING CAUSE OF THE LAME WORK THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS DOING, WE NEED BETTER ROADS BETTER DRIVERS AND BETTER TOUR BUSES AND NOT THOSE CHEAP ASS LIGHT @#$%^&* WASTE BRAND
Be serious about the industry. Get the foundation strong.... People come for fun and sun now look what happened. My heart aches. Who is responsible. Is it the government?
Really?
There are some very good comments and some very negative comments.
-The transportation system needs to be addressed and assessed by Tourist board officials and Government officials. this problem starts at the minute level -(cruise pier dispatch). guys are hustling back and forth to get jobs but forget that there are many lives at stake (local and tourists) and need to be careful and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Drivers should not be able to drive someone elses "BUS" to make more money by doing more jobs, its hazardous because you may not be accustomed to that vehicle or possess the necessary "class" on your drivers license.
-Vehicles for tourists need to be checked more frequently and more vigorously!!!
-If you are registered in the "Small Line" stay In It!!! Its like women, they practice driving in a small car but when they get their license, they want an SUV and can't manage it. Men, stick to your vans or jeeps if that's what you are accustomed too. Leave the COASTERS and SAFARIS to the guys registered in the "BIG Line".
-A managerial team needs to be put in place. someone from the outside not FRIGGIN "PORT AUTHORITY RENT-A-COPS" who call the line early when it still has work or to save a job for their friends who decide to go liming instead of providing a service to tourists because stats and information about deaths, accidents, problems and concerns need to be recorded and published so that we all can improve our behavior and actions before, during and after tourist season.
Farewell,
just love my country.........
Too much (fat) over weight , old and can't see or walk properly taxi driver her in the bvi. Especially from town to east end. Some doing the government work and still want to be on the road running taxi. greediness.....always a rush to make more than one trip !!!!
Yes the Taxi drivers make a little more money but at what coast to the territory? This place needs a couple of good Hotels and resorts. Traffic was hell the other day simple trying to get the ferry boat from the round about more then 30min, this is madness.
The cruise lines are dropping money all over. At the end we will wonder how this could have happened. The answer is simple greed!
As I am reading the postings, it saddens me to see people argue and be insensitive to the families who had loved ones involved. How would you feel if it were your loved ones.
I think you need to wait to find the cause of the accident before putting blame on "this or that". Yes, maybe things need to be tightened up, such as inspections, etc, but we still do not know the cause of the accident.
