19th Annual Leverick Bay Poker Run is on today!

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, Leverick Bay Resort and Marina is holding its signature event, the Leverick Bay Poker Run today, Sunday, May 28, 2023.

This is the 19th Anniversary of the event, which is a highly anticipated one on the Virgin Islands' tourism calendar.

New stops on this year’s Poker Run, include Loose Mongoose and Saba Rock, with other stops being Pirate’s Bight on Norman Island, Foxy’s Taboo on Jost van Dyke, and the Tortola Pier Park.

The after-party at Leverick Bay is powered by Mr Nice Guy and begins at 5:00 pm with the Fashion Show and followed by a buffet, drinks, and the prize-giving ceremony at 7:00 pm.

Net proceeds from the event will be distributed to the Virgin Gorda Charitable Trust, who in turn will make announcements regarding additional contributions to local charities including the Animal Rescue Control of Virgin Gorda and others.

Fundraiser

In 2019, a donation of $31,000 was given to the Trust, with cumulative donations exceeding $155,000 USD since the inception of the event. Prize giving of $16,000 was distributed to three winners.

A record number of participants were seen at the 2019 Poker Run, with approximately 150 boats in attendance and a crowd of some 2,000 guests at Leverick Bay, with more spectators at each stop across the territory.

Volunteers Nick and Monica Willis founded the event in 2001, and the checkered flag has been passed to Alex Yates and Joel Brillert.

Indeed the Turnbull boys is selfish but get this, they might have a few bucks in their accounts, a business here and there, don’t have to struggle like others but they are still low class. Yes my friend, some people may have the best of everything but they are still considered low class.

… so much better than the very poor imitation that does a really poor copy cat version - driven by the organisers desire to make money for themselves rather than for a good cause.

@ great event you are clueless! So only leverick Bay can hold a poker run in the BVI. You are just a hater. And by the way, the copy cat version donated $20k worth of laptops, internet for a year and other items to some primary schools from their first event. Ask a question before you talk foolishness.

Its a very nice, fun event for all...Good for the BVI, help Market the BVI..A few adjustment need to be made..1/ Another location need to be sought, Leverick Bay is no longer appropriate, its poorly kept. Or invest in the upkeep of Leverick Bay so it looks attractive.. .2/ More on Sea entertainment, maybe a Barge with DJs, Bands patrons all the way to the location...

Congratulations Peter well deserved and a repayment of good karma. I remember few years ago a Village key you saw me and give me a new hundreds bucks and asked me to bless a family and that I did. Good deeds doesn’t go unnoticed by God.

are over for the BVI Poker Run. 28 May photos are disappointing in regards to number of participating motor vessels. There are better methods to raise funds for local charities than this contrived motor sport event. The pandemic changed the planet's priorities and the BVI needs to adapt to those changes.

Poker Runs are done all over the World, so how the Turnbull Brothers copy cat Levericks Bay, when Levericks Bay aint the ones who created the poker run.... Blah Blah Blah, as usual only a certain colour of people supposed to do things in the BVI. Just shut ah you trap and support both Poker Runs as both donate back to the BVI.
