UPDATE: Patrons wowed by Splash of Summer Collection

The mini variety and fashion show kept the eyes of patrons glued to the walkway-turned-catwalk for well over an hour as the models strode along before them.
There was screaming support coming from various sections of the audience as they remained involved throughout, clapping and cheering for their favourite outfits amidst the backdrop of accompanying music.
Proprietress, Alivern Harrigan said the girls were great and added, “it’s exactly what I wanted because I handpicked everything myself.”
She explained that the models were chosen to match the outfits that they wore and attempts were made to cater to every possible size.
She thought the crowd participation was also great and noted that persons started to buy items from the store immediately after the show, which is exactly what she had hoped for given that this was a way of advertising her business. “As a matter of fact,” she added, “some of the models purchased the clothes even before the show.”
Harrigan said the idea came to her after the Village Cay management had encouraged her to host a show in the area from the time the store had opened but this was constantly put off.
She felt it was a success and noted the show opened an avenue for her and that she is already planning to execute the next show under the series.

VI in for Splash of Summer on 1st day of summer!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Friday June 21, 2013 is officially the first day of summer and residents can look forward to a Splash of Summer as a welcome treat at Village Cay.
Of course the Virgin Islands really has perpetual summer weather but this time of the year is also referred as summer both by our visitors and persons living here.
That aside, Beautiful by Jasanay in collaboration with Tolavibes will be hosting a mini variety and fashion show dubbed, Splash of Summer this Friday.
Promoters and owners of Beautiful by Jasanay, Glenn and Alivern Harrigan, have organised a fashion show that will feature the launch of a number of summer pieces and is expected to take attendees throughout its various segments on a stylistic journey of the latest summer trends.
The So Serious Summer Collection shows trends that fade from the season’s hottest all white and black outfits while the Summer’s Socialite Collection will have on display a number of more professional touches suitable for formal events such as graduation and other similar celebratory occasions.
There will also be an accessories parade segment which will feature all the accessories necessary to complete the summer outfits on display.
The mini variety show will feature show stopping pieces from dance group, Geek+Squad and the VI’s very own performing artiste B’More [Mackenzie Baltimore], who recently launched his debut album, Inside Out. He is expected to perform some of the hottest tracks on the album during the show.
The fashion show will showcase a number of amateur models as well as several guest models including former Miss World contestant, Zoe Walcott-McMillan, Bisa Smith and Miss Teen BVI, Kamyce Penn.
There will also be a very special door prize that will allow the winner to take home an entire outfit, complete with accessories. There is a catch though, as the winner must be brave enough to model the outfit in the store.
