Large amounts of cocaine found on vessel @ VG

Reports reaching our newsroom have indicated that large amounts of illegal drugs were found on a vessel at Virgin Gorda, today, October 17, 2019.

According to sources, the vessel the drugs were found in is named 'Ellita'; however, it is unclear whether any arrests have been made.

The bust was confirmed to our newsroom by Commissioner of Police Mr Michael B. Matthews, who said it was a joint operation today between the RVIPF and HM Customs resulting in a significant seizure believed to be cocaine.

"The seizure took place on VG but as the investigation is active and officers still engaged I can make no further statement at this time. More details will be released in due course," Mr Matthews stated.

Our newsroom is working on more details to this story and will update accordingly.

In July 2015, police and customs officers seized 44.2 kilograms of cocaine aboard a boat named Krautsand at Port Purcell. No one was arrested.

Stop talking what you all don't know. Stop underestimating the police. 1/ The Boat must have a registered owner.. The Police knows that. 2/ There must be an informant.. Maybe they just doing their best to protect the informant... Most time in these big burst the DEA is involved.... I think the police know what they are doing. They R putting it together without any hint or involvement of the informer.... Great Job officers...

If you all think the drugs destination is BVI you're all very mislead. The owner of it is probably in USA or DR somewhere cooling out while we looking for local ppl. Do your work still but you know that much drugs isn't for BVI we're just a port along the way most likely.

Government need to find the company elitta inc and then maybe they will take better selection of there crew,$10,000 for each kilo and if not paid keep the vessel too many times on same vessel no respect for anyone.
