ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A woman originally from the Virgin Islands who was reported missing in Atlanta, USA has been found, according to reports reaching this news site.

Malcia Blyden Brinson, 47, was last seen by her family in Gwinnett County on February 22, 2017 driving away from a Duluth gas station. Family members then had no contact with her since that date which they called uncharacteristic.

Police had recovered her abandoned vehicle in Chattanooga, Tennessee and had reason to believe that she was still in that area. Family members were concerned that Brinson may be in the early stages of an unknown mental health disorder.

And Gwinnett County Police Department on March 2, 2017 confirmed to this news site last night that Brinson was found.

“It was not an abduction and she is fine. Reach out to Chattanooga Police Department for additional information,” said Public Information Officer of the Gwinnett County Police Department, Corporal Deon Washington.

The Chattanooga Police Department did not immediately respond to our queries via email.

Malcia Blyden Brinson’s case being investigated- Atlanta Police

Police in Atlanta, USA have confirmed with this news site that they are investigating a missing person’s case involving Malcia Blyden Brinson.

Brinson, 43, reportedly grew up in the Virgin Islands (lower Estate) and attended the then BVI High School.

It is not exactly clear since when Ms Brinson has been missing but a missing person’s alert was shared on social media, including Whatsapp and Facebook by Glynis Varlack Allgood, who claimed to be the woman’s cousin. Ms Allgood did not state when exactly Ms Brinson was reported missing and when she was last seen but her Facebook post about the missing report was done on February 24, 2017.

Efforts to reach Ms Allgood were unsuccessful.

“We are investigating a missing person’s case involving Malcia Brinson. It is being worked by one of our detectives,” Corporal Deon Washington, Public Information Officer of the Gwinnett County Police Department in Atlanta told Virgin Islands News Online today, February 28, 2017.

However, Corporal Washington indicated that the “initial incident report has not been approved” and we were advised to check back with the Gwinett County Police Department for a copy of the report.

A check on Ms Brinson’s Facebook page has shown she was last active on her page on February 5, 2017 at 8:51 PM when, coincidentally, she shared an article titled ‘Three Year Old Has Been Abducted By Psychotic Woman’.

Further checks on her Facebook page further revealed that Ms Brinson frequently shared articles about missing persons.

Seems very suspicious, the cousin makes her own poster and shares the missing person blog on social, however, the police dept has no report of a missing person? I hope there is no foul play or scheming at work here, GO AND REPORT TO THE POLICE. Miss I hope u make it home safely to your family.

This was my thoughts exactly, I mean why post a missing persons blog but not report her missing to the authorities? could be this "relative" is trying to divert attention elsewhere like "omg she is missing lets start a manhunt" when they could very well kno her whereabouts and condition.

Yes! The same thing I kept saying to myself with most of the pictures I've seen of her. And those of you who are so quick to berate "SB" for the comment, please stop. There is nothing wrong with what this person noted. If you know anything about psychology and the like, you'll know that one of the signs of schizophrenia can be detected within the eyes. I am NOT saying that this is what Ms. Blyden may be plagued with - I'm simply saying... Anyway, my prayers are with her and I thank the good God Almighty that she has been found.

you mean come to Tortola? Nahh, you don't see not much here can't get solved as small as the Territory is? A search here means she got to walk into the station for them to find anything.

She will get lost, if she has a mental issue. She needs to stay right there in the US while someone sees to it that she gets the attention she needs.

Glad she is found safe. Sometimes you just want to get away for a while. I remember having some personal issues and I got in my car and drove from Baltimore to Kentucky without telling anyone.
