UPDATE: MCW Minister objects to package increase for BVIPA Managing Director

This follows an alleged attempt by the Ports Authority Board to increase the package of the Managing Director, Claude Skelton-Cline without Cabinet’s approval.
The BVI Ports Authority Board has since been asked to reconsider the resolution to increase the Managing Director’s package.
Speaking to reporters at a short press conference following the Contract Signing at the Office of the Premier today between Government and FDL Consult Inc. for the Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project, Hon. Vanterpool said he was not prepared to take the resolution to cabinet, which he said he learnt about from the press but has since let his objections known to the Managing Director.
"I was surprised by the resolution," said Hon. Vanterpool. "I learnt about the resolution through the press, to be truthful."
When contacted by Virgin Islands News Online, Mr Cline confirmed he was aware of Minister Vanterpool's decision.
He said the Minister would not need to contact him on the matter but rather the board since it would be the board to make their decision on the matter.
The Office of the BVIPA Board Chairman, Mr Edward DeCastro said he (DeCastro) was not available to take a call.

This clearly shows me that the director was really looking for a raise and he got the job last december according to the info. so in the space of 3 months he need more money than what he getting? What about the people who getting $25,000 a year and have to pay rent, car loan, food, supplies for their kids for school, and travel (alot of families take their kids on holiday esp. if they are doing excellent in school). $105,000 and you still asking for more, do you even have conscience.
You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all people all the time. We still have common sense.
Stop insulting our intelligence.
