The Virgin Islands will get into action at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar on Friday, September 27, 2019 when Kyron A. McMaster competes in the heats of the Men’s 400m hurdles.

McMaster is one of three athletes from the Virgin Islands who will feature at the event, the others being Long Jumper and 2019 Pan Am Games gold medalist Chantel E. Malone and Shot Putter Eldred Henry.

The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold medalist and 2-time Diamond League champion, McMaster, will open competition in Heat 2 of the Men’s 400m Hurdles.

The Virgin Islander, with a Season’s Best 48:33, is the favourite on paper to qualify, as he has run faster this year than all of the athletes entered in his heat, including Brazilian Alison Dos Santos (SB: 48:45).

McMaster will be running in Lane 4 when the race begins at 1:35pm local time. The semi-finals for that event will be held the following day.

The next VI athlete in action will be Eldred Henry, in the Qualifying Round of the Men’s Shot Put on October 3, 2019.

The BE VI culture is this. We only recognized people after 1) They hit goal (2) after the outside world notice them. In between that they don’t care. Our biggest issue is favoritism

@raven? Where’s the negative? That’s you’ll issue. The truth is considered negative but the results shows different. Unless they hit goal you’ll won’t change your profile picture using them etc but don’t blame me thats just how it is.
