UPDATE - Man who fell off building to undergo facial reconstructive surgery
Joseph fell off the roof of the building and landed on his face on April 13, 2012 while working on the said building and was flown to Jamaica for medical treatment where he is expected to undergo the surgery. According to Bishop John Cline, Bishop of the New Life Baptist Church, he said Joseph is now showing signs of recovery, where he is eating and now speaking.
Bishop Cline indicated that until Joseph’s recovery, his medical bills are being taken care of by the church, reasons being he has no family residing in Tortola.
The Bishop sends out an invitation to persons of the community who would like to contribute to Mr. Joseph’s recovery. He added that persons interested are invited to attend service at New Life Baptist Church in Duffs Bottom and speak to him personally.
In a previous interview with Bishop Cline, he indicated that as a result of the fall, Joseph who is a father of one, suffered multiple injuries, including injuries to his head and face.
Mr. Joseph was part of a construction crew working on the “Save the Seed” building which is being built by the church.“He fell inside the building…the incident occurred about 10 a.m. and he hit his head. I have been told by the doctors that he’s in a semi-conscious state,” Bishop Cline told this news agency.
Cline had added that the church “will do whatever we can to get the treatment and our prayer is for the Lord to heal and deliver him.”
The “Save The Seed” is an initiative of Bishop Cline, who had previously told Virgin Islands News Online, is a manifestation of a vision he was given by God for the development of especially young people.
The three-storey facility, which would cost some $5M to be completed, would include an 8-lane bowling alley, indoor basketball court, a full state of the art gym inclusive of an aerobics room, weights, cardio-workouts and personal trainers. There would also be a learning centre and café.
