UPDATE: Man shot on Zion Hill identified as Joel Samuel aka 'Joey'
Mr Samuel was reportedly in his vehicle when he came under fire, allegedly from someone on a motor scooter.
Police had confirmed the shooting incident, stating that the victim was being treated for injuries at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
Reports reaching our newsroom are that the incident took place around 6:30 pm.
Police had cordoned off the area as they combed for any clues to assist with their investigation.
It is unclear if any arrests have been made, as police had not responded to our queries up to the time of publication.

Information just reaching our news centre is there has been a shooting in the area of Tortola known as Zion Hill.
According to reports, a local male was driving his vehicle around 6:30 pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023, when he came under fire from someone on a motor scooter.
The injured man was taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
Police are said to be investigating.

We have our problems, but they have way more problems than we do and they cannot even control their own crimes, so what makes you think they will do better by the BVI? Keep them the hell out of here because before you know it, it will be like the states, giving White cops the right to kill innocents for no reason at all just because we are Black. It will be much worse if they came here because they see all Blacks as criminals instead of going after the REAL ones. Scotland Yard does need to come in. Too much people of outside cultural affairs are here influencing and enticing their lifestyles within the Territory. Of course some people would not want Scotland yard so they will vomit remarks about slavery and blacks to discourage locals from entertaining the idea.
I wish there was some way to fine persons doing this because it takes away for the opportunity to find weapons etc.
Maybe if it starts to hurt their pockets we will have less persons doing that.

These problems are solvable as a Christian society especially we can not allow fear & evil rule us someone has to grab this gun & scooter menance rather than run from it. People are getting stupid in traffic we can see where its going.
Get reliable public transportation. Ban scooters. Use cameras on certain intersections. If a crime is committed suspects escape route will be confined to a single area. Legalize weed & allow people to grow it themselves rather than going to a dealer. After that sweep for hard drugs & guns. Problem solved or greatly diminished...
Oh and I hope the victim does not hold back with the info on who was trying to kill him & did not hold back the shots. Let it loose. No rules as no snitching in love & war certainly not for wannabe murderers.
Change the demographics of the VI to exclude the proven and documented potential killers thieves and law breakers and producers of such.
A civil society requires a civilized population.
