BREWERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Now that the next of kin and other family members have been notified, we can report that the young man fatally shot just before 1:00 PM today, July 28, 2026, at Brewers Bay has been identified as young local businessman Mr Kai de Castro.

Mr de Castro, the proprietor and owner of Main Street Restaurant, was found along the road that runs parallel to the Brewers Bay beach.

Police are actively investigating; however, one senior police officer told our News Centre that they are interested in knowing who was the occupant/s of a car spotted in the area at the time of the shooting.

The shooting of Mr de Castro has sent shockwaves across the territory.

We will bring more information as it becomes available.

Reports of fatal shooting in Brewers Bay

According to reports reaching our News Centre, there was a shooting in Brewers Bay sometime after 1:00 PM today, July 28, 2026.

Reports also indicate that one person has been fatally wounded.

Police have confirmed reports of shots fired in Brewers Bay, stating that the "circumstances are unclear" and that they will share more information with the media once received.

    Based on who it is the community ( well a certain demographic ) will advocate for them. But depending on the shooter or the victim sometimes they fall between a rock and a hard place trying to decide who to root for. Nevertheless at least we know 1 less illegal is off the street even though it makes a certain demographic upset about it. But hay it’s Festival-Dem outsideeeeeeeee.
