Tell me how can a government provide a solution to crime? Do you know the rule of the Legislative Branch of government? Do some social studies research and let me know. Unless you expect government officials to patrol the streets 24/7 to ensure that there's no robbing, shooting, stabbing. You people blame and depend on the government for every single thing, it is just sickening and disgusting, and we will get nowhere for ourselves if we keep up this mentality.

Well sah, i really got to start walk around with a camera. Because i ain know how the ndp government ministers just going around doing all this crime and nobody ain seeing. (sarcasm incase u too retarded to recognise) Because everytime some idiot person do something of their own volition and small brains its the ndp fault or is the ndp cause it. Like nobody dont want to take responsible for their actions. I am so tired of ppl in this place. government must leave their house in the night time and stand on the street corners with their bullet proof chest and stop crime. then when they leave from there they should go to the homes of the everyone and feed them and babysit any unattended children. then they should take the parents and scaliwags by the hand and lead them to offices and sit them down with a job. My my well then i guess we would always know who the criminals are, it would be the family of the government ministers because when they out playing hero 24/7 of course their families being neglected and of course that would be their excuse to go out and replace the criminals that the government neglected them to get off the street in the first place! oh well....sh!t happens.

No, Government is not expected to do the jobs of Police. That is what Police were hired for 24/7 protection. They need to have community patrol on foot in pairs and let the people know who are and who they can turn to. They just riding around with the windows up, AC blowing, and things happen right in front of them and they won't get out of their cars. This place is GREAT for criminals because they know nothing is being done to protect us. I am already planning my move out of here. Tortola will never be the same safe place I remembered it to be. Goodbye my friends.

Put computers in police stations and a propper network, some server to store info on crimnals.

I agree with you. Both police and Immigration needs to have a database with information on criminals or anybody for easy accessing. They should be able to pull out some mechanism from their pockets and get information right there and then. Most times when someone calls the police to an accident or crime seen, they most times come from the station. No one is on the streets anymore, or if they are, they are driving our tax money to the ground. I say get more police on patrol and erect more cameras around town. If I was in charge, the first place I would put a camera was in the gettho, then on the dual carriage way (one facing in both directions) then Purcell by McKelly's, then Lower Estate, then Long Bush. My two cents

Not one person out of many comments mentioned hope that Mr. Charles Thomas, age 50, gets through this incident as best as he can. A stabbing in the chest area sounds like the norm.
