Police called in after customer brawl @RiteWay Pasea

Police were called to the scene after a customer reportedly became unruly during a dispute at RiteWay in Pasea on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

A video making its rounds on social media shows security personnel holding back a man who appeared to be approaching someone at the deli aggressively. The irate customer was taken out of the store, although he made a few attempts to return to the deli.

Some customers appeared to be paying attention to the fiasco, while others could not be bothered and went on with their shopping as though nothing out of the ordinary was happening. One woman was seen calmly sorting her cabbages during the commotion.

No injuries- RTW

The RTW Group of Companies, in a press statement on May 27, 2026, said it is aware of a video circulating involving an incident which occurred at its Pasea location recently. “We would like to reassure the public that following an incident at our store yesterday involving a customer dispute, all customers and staff members are safe and no injuries were reported.”

RTW said its team acted swiftly alongside on-site security personnel to de-escalate the situation and ensure the safety of everyone present. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force was also called to the scene and responded promptly to assist.

RVIPF tight-lipped

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, our security team, and staff members whose professionalism, quick thinking, and commitment helped prevent the situation from escalating further.

“The safety and well-being of our customers and team members remain our highest priority, and we thank the public for their understanding and continued support.”

It is unclear whether anyone was arrested or charged, as the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has not been sharing any information on the matter, despite being asked by the media.
