UPDATE: Kevin Tyson was alleged instigator in HMP disturbance

According to sources within Her Majesty’s Prison, since yesterday, February 9, 2017 Mr Kevin Tyson was on lockdown and, when released, began to engage in a disruptive behaviour.
“He destroyed about eight toilets on the A Wing as well as lighting system,” said one of our sources, adding that police were called in and Tyson was reportedly charged for damage to property. He was then placed on lockdown again but let out this morning, February 10, 2017 so he could get his recreation and bath.
However, according to our sources, when it was time for Mr Tyson to return to his cell he refused. “He then proceeded to behave in a disorderly manner, grabbing a 2x4 and damaging a meshed door. After task Force was called in Mr Tyson allegedly locked himself in another prisoner’s cell.”
Our sources also said Task Force did not enter the prison compound but remained until the prisoner in question was calmed.
Alleged disruptive prisoner
According to reports, this is about the fourth or fifth time that the prisoner, Mr Tyson, has been disruptive at HMP, forcing Task Force to be called in.
This news site had first and accurately reported on September 6, 2016 that Mr Tyson had set his prison cell on fire.
This news site was told that prison officers were alerted to the fire by several prisoners who began to shout "fire, fire, in the A-Wing."
No one was injured in the incident and it is not clear how the prisoner managed to start a fire in his cell.
Tyson was also reportedly involved in a fight with a prison officer at the Magistrate's Court in John's Hole on September 5, 2016. The prison officer reportedly suffered minor injuries.
According to our sources at HMP, there is the fear that something serious might happen and Task Force may not respond, since they are usually called and turned away whenever there is disruption at HMP.
Meanwhile, Police Information Officer, Diane Drayton confirmed to this news site this afternoon that Police were contacted to provide assistance at the prison this morning.
“Not clear, at this time, if and what actions were actually taken by Police, but I understand everything is back to normal at this time,” Ms Drayton said.

Riot Police called in @ HMP
- following reports of prisoners making threats to fellow inmates & Prison officers
At around 11:00 AM this morning, February 10, 2017 Police were called to her Majesty's Prison in Balsam Ghut on the main island of Tortola following reports of a possible disturbance.
Information is sketchy but, according to our newsroom's understanding, there were concerns after irate inmates allegedly began making threats of violence against fellow prisoners and even Prison officers.
It is not clear at this time why the inmates were reacting in the way they allegedly were.
Virgin Islands News Online will bring more details when they come in.

Now eat what they give you.
LMAO@prisoner. Yes he do deserve better quality food. If the government going pay room and board to put him up for God knows how long, then they should also give him better quality food. People out here need help and then locking up people for all kind of petty sh*t. When it's time to lock up the harder criminals them don't have no space. Save the space for the harder criminals like NDP, VIP, Customs, them man assign to the evidence room, and so on and so on
Let's positivity take back our country/ community/ neighborhoods together as we should.

Wth....With that kind of behavior he should stay on lockdown and not even be allowed bath much less recreation.
24/7. Send his A.. To the US prison system and I bet if the officer give him a direct order to return to his cell, he will jump in that cell pronto.
David foot needs to take control of the prison it's out of hand and out of his control I working there and I see what is going on he and others are incompetent to operate this facility the lady from England that came in was verbally abused and almost attack and Mr >>>>> did nothing a poor and weak leader officers leaving by the two's something is wrong.>>>> is afraid to do his job and it has affected the officers working under him. More I can say but I'll leave it there
