UPDATE: Kevin Krigger & Emmett upset Pure Speight in feature Festive Finish race
Pure Speight held the lead by two lengths for most of the race and looked set to take victory coming off the backstraight; however, Emmett unleashed a kick that brought the crowd alive.
Emmett, ridden by Kevin Krigger, began to quickly close the gap and pipped Pure Speight at the finish.
Ice Road was third and Grand Tower came in 4th.
Fighting Back of Anegada was 5th.

Exciting races billed for Festive Finish horseraces today
ESTATE BOVONI, St Thomas, USVI- The atmosphere will be festive and the races are anticipated to be thrilling when the Festive Finish horseraces are held at Clinton E. Phipps Sr Racetrack on St Thomas, US Virgin Islands today, Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Seven races are carded for the day and post time for the first showdown is 1:00 PM.
Appearing in the feature race will be Anegada horse Fighting Back of Francis Racing Stables and trained by Omarie Smith.
Fighting Back will be running in only its second race at Clinton E. Phipps Sr Racetrack, but will have to contend with the likes of St Croix horse Pure Speight, which destroyed the competition in the feature race of the Salute to Service races on November 9, 2025.
Other top horses in the feature race, a 1-mile Open showdown for Class A horses for a purse of $18,000, will be Emmett, Ice Road and Grand Tower.
Unsociable & Laser Sharp
Anegada and Tortola horses will feature in the 5th race of the 7-race card, with Class A horses Unsociable (Anegada) and Laser Sharp (Tortola) looking to gallop to glory over 6 furlongs for a purse of $16,500.
Also in the mix will be Mundo Mix and Friar Laurence. Mundo Mix was a winner at the recent Salute to Service races.

The VI people not interested in wasting their money on it.
Going to St Thomas is good for Ferries and the taxis and other businesses so win win.
Let them carry the expense of the track.
