UPDATE: Keno Allen sentenced to 15 years for attempting to choke
Allen was sentenced to 15 years for the offence of attempting to choke, 10 years for robbery and 2 years for indecent assault. The sentences will run concurrently effective May 13, 2012.
Justice John told the court and more specifically Allen that it had hit him that the offences were committed just a few days before the celebration of women, Mother's Day.
He noted also that he couldn't fathom how Allen, who represented the Virgin Islands in basketball and would have been a member of a karate group, could have become what he is today since both sports promote discipline.
Allen's lawyer attempted to establish that her client was the product of a broken home and may have fallen prey to peer pressure and other likely influences. This did not go down well with Justice John who noted that Allen has what it takes to charter a better course for his life.

Drama in HC as Allen found guilty
- sentencing set for May 30, 2013
The Judge presiding over the trial of Keno Allen, Mr Kelvin John, was forced to strongly rebuke the accused as he was refusing to cooperate with the court after the jury's decision was announced in the High Court on May 29, 2013.
The jury unanimously found Keno Allen guilty of all three charges to which he had pleaded not guilty.
When asked if he had anything to say having heard the jury's decision, Allen angrily retorted "Me went home, man say one thing, woman say nothing and you all sending me to jail? Me aint do nothing I is a working man. I don't want to hear anything more from yall."
His attorney Ruthilia Maximus attempted to contain her client but he insisted on raising his voice and disregarding the court's order to sit and be silent. "I am reminding you that you are in the court and I am ordering you to cooperate with the court and sit," said Justice John.
Justice John then informed the court that sentencing is set for tomorrow May 30, 2013.
Asked if he understood the decision of the court, Allen retorted again, "I aint want hear nothing, I want to go to the back. Can't I go to the back, I aint hearing nothing right now."
He was then told to return to the court tomorrow and that he has been further remanded until the sentencing.
