ASUNCION, Paraguay, SA- Jaleel N. Croal made more history for the Virgin Islands (VI) when he added a 200m silver medal to his 100m bronze medal at the Junior Pan Am Games in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Croal ran 20.39- a time that beat the Games’ 200m record of 20.51- to place 2nd on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

His compatriot, Wanyaé Belle, ran well to keep ahead of race contenders and cross the line with a time of 20.84 for 5th place.

Jose Figueroa of Puerto Rico won the race in a Games' record time of 20.16.

Colombia's Ronal Longa, who got the better of Croal in the 100m Final, was third in a time of 20.51.

Croal becomes the first athlete to win medals for the VI at a Junior Pan Am Games.

The VI has now completed participation in the Games.

Croal & Belle in 200m finals @Jr Pan Am Games in Paraguay

ASUNCION, Paraguay, SA- In a historic achievement, the Virgin Islands (VI) will have two athletes in the final of the Men's 200m at the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay. 

Bronze medallist in the Men's 100m, Jaleel N. Croal and Wanyaé Belle both gained automatic qualification on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Running in Heat 1 of the semi-finals, Belle sprinted to a 3rd place finish with a time of 21.08 for an automatic spot in the finals.

Competing in Heat 2 immediately afterwards, Croal crossed the line in 2nd place in a time of 21.03, also confirming his place in the finals.

The two VI sprinters will line up for the 200m Finals at 6:20 PM (5:20 PM VI time) today, Thursday, August 21, 2025, for their last event of ASU2025.
