But songs every festival season and every big event does be blasting lyrics about fast live , gangs and violence..

So that how them learn to do things.

Get a job? Get education? Learn financial discipline?

Nah let's get gun and commit crimes till we rich like west bank sob 88gang etc .

Festival coming up and we going see a set of people with ski mask on dancing and y'all think that is normal.

What ski mask represent in the underworld?

Y'all even got dudes coming dress and bank robbers with balloon gun and money bags...wa kinda message y'all sending?

Then when crimes get committed we bawl out stop stop?

We only shout stop when things happen after a lil time past back to the same program....

We can't be serious in this place.

      Be proactive
      Do not condone the following:
      Condone crime
Condone party life which is funded by fast life.
      Condone bad habits like smoking
      Condone drug trafficking
      Condone fast life
Condone wearing flashy jewellery like a hamster
Condone songs with lyrics about drugs sex violence gangs and fast life
Make youths and adults feel shame for being violent, partying like an animal, drinking like a drunkard, supporting drug activities, promoting drugs and sex. This place got people chasing popularity and trying to fit in. Right the culture everybody wants to fit in is being criminals, wearing jewelry, dressing like thugs and prostitutes, partying drinking smoking etc if we call out these things and make them feel stupid they will change.

Too much single mothers in the place who got knocked by a criminal and expected that person to be responsible and faithful parent

Too many baby showers with no ring then 5 years later father gone bout them business and mother still partying and raising she kids to behave reckless just like she

Too many dudes trying to fit in and look tough by joining gangs or following a certain life style

It's not drama, it's a genuine question. The BVI doesn't have a strong medical team on hand. Everything related to that field is outsourced. We don't even have CSI. We have to wait for them to come on island to assess the scene. As a community we need to do a better job at employing persons like this so we can have them immediately on island. I'm sure we have persons interested in those fields that the government can provide scholarships for so we can have these people here for situations like these. Its honestly no hate to BVI HSA it's just as a community we have to give ourselves a fighting chance when it comes to unfortunate matters like this. Rest in peace to the young man and send prayers to his family, his baby & his loved ones; Lord knows he didn't deserve that.

It doesn't make any sense they are just in their damn new vehicles driving around they need to make their presence known and seen, put fear into these damn thugs!!! It is sad also to say that we have to come to this but the Police need to be walking around with guns at more now than ever!!!

People may think this is inhumane but it is time to bring in some of those I don’t play games police from Jamaica that is not afraid to go toe to toe with these gun slingers. Plenty people knows who pull the trigger on this dude and why. But they will keep their mouths crazy glue and another murder will go unsolved. Dearest Gentle Readers,

Pray indulge a modest observation from one who watches society with keen interest.

An external task force ought not be viewed as a permanent guest at our table, but rather as a skilled contractor summoned for a particular purpose. They arrive with no family ties, no favours owed, no old loyalties to cloud judgment—only a duty to root out as much wickedness as possible within a defined season.

When the labour is complete, the island may thank them with a generous slice of cake and a warm cup of tea, wish them fair winds on their onward travels, and graciously return the stewardship of peace to our courteous, community-minded, unarmed local police officers.

Sometimes, to restore a fine house, one must first invite the builders before welcoming the gardeners.

One sincerely hopes that the day soon comes when such extraordinary assistance is no longer required, and that our beloved Virgin Islands may once again be known more for its tranquillity than its tragedies.

    Yours, as ever,

Please, if you know who it is look for a police officer and tell him. Call Ms. Jacqueline Vanterpool or go and see her. Right now his blood is on their hands. Don't have his killer's blood on yours, for what you sow you will reap as well. Don't become of a murderer because someone hurt your friend. It is senseless and absolutely terrible. But assist in stopping the violence in this little country and go and see Ms. Vanterpool. I felt so good we were half way through the year and no murders and then this. Please, please, don't make it two and then if someone knows you took revenge, three. For where will it end? Vengeance belongs to the Lord and trust me he will repay. Even if you have no evidence, go and say something. Let them investigate.

Surveillance cameras are a force multiplier for law enforcement. They deter crime, provide critical evidence, improve situational awareness, and help solve cases faster. They also reduce man-hours by allowing officers to monitor multiple areas remotely, freeing personnel to focus on higher-priority calls and keeping communities safer.

Rest in peace to the young man and prayers and comfort to his family ???? ???? ????

Half of them doing nonsense in these streets and can’t afford to get caught up so instead, something that can be fixed is left unattended.

Heavy investment, yes! Great results, even better.

Ps. Nobody need to hide anyways we all know their business already. Put up the cameras all over the island. Have a command center, rotate officers to minimize corruption. Intercept crime! Common sense ain’t common?????

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is at its lowest point. Everyone is only concerned about power, rank and position. In all of that, the people are suffering. Everybody wants to be chief, no Indian. A weak criminal investigation department where detectives are being reduced to " defectives" because of a lack of leadership. The people of this country deserve better.

The requirements to become an officer must change because at this point it seems like a vacation spot or they doing too much.

If someone wants to become a police officer in the BVI they need to attend proper training in the Uk because that’s our jurisdiction. I do not believe the training they receive is sufficient. Next the interested persons should have to make thier own way to the UK, pay for their training and their accommodation. Just like going to university. This will weed out all the people that just doing it because it’s easy going in the BVI. Once they are accepted into the force. They find a place to live and do the job they are so passionate about!

The detectives also need proper official training. They for sure are useless. I don’t know how many cases have been reduced to nothing because of their inability coupled with the DDP, however, she’s another story for another day. Complete joke!!

If a person can be so brazen to rob and kill a man for a chain that legally belonged to that man that mean they can carjack a person for their vehicle. All you had to do if anything just take his chain and leave him alone you did not have to take his life.

As a single woman living in Tortola, I learn how to use a fire arm and I carry for my protection. I am not going to use my blick to rob or bring harm to anyone however, if I sense or see anyone getting funny around me or trying to take anything from me or harm me I will unload my blick on them be it male, female, young old or other.

Yes girl, do what you got to do and ask questions after the fact. Unload your P.w P.w on anyone that you feel is going to put you in danger. I assure all single women living on the Island to get a firearm and properly learn how to use it for protection.

A business man as well? Just wondering if it’s a business man that got rob and eventually killed by another business man.

Stop casting aspersions on this young man's character with your "wondering". No, he was not a "businessman". He was a respectful and helpful young man who was gainfully employed and focused on being a good father to his 7 month old son. Where is our empathy?

For confirmation that he was indeed a a businessman.

You asked Where’s my empathy?? Did any of the past businessmen had any empathy? When them shot Trinity a 13 year old did they had any empathy? Of course condolences to his real friends and family.

One thing these politicians know is how to act like they care at the peak, then later on the water settles again. Same thing with all the big names that have passed on to now K’moi. This is a tragedy, very uncalled-for. We feel unsafe. Do not wait for the next one to happen. Go into these communities and get the young men work to do. Not only in your rightful district. Some of these young men are indeed trying to make it the correct way, and it is still hard. They are going to look towards “the next big eat.” For their own selfish gain, yes, but if they had the means to avoid that lifestyle, I’m sure they would gladly and openly accept to detour from voilence. It would contribute to a less chaotic community. We all share this little island. Are we ready to face that conversation head on?

Is all of a sudden certain people are speaking up about the senseless killing but it is only due to being close to home and affections. When other people family and friends was gun down like a dawg everyone quit because most the of dawgs was affiliated. All of a sudden a certain part of the community is in their RIP until weekend the once again at the funeral then back to the normal routine.

Of the life of this young man and those before him let’s challenge BVI Festival Committee to cancel and refund artists like Popcaan who have more songs about bad vs God & Time. Let’s do it in respect of the families of victims.
