ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Word just reaching this news site is that the Acting Principal of the Elmore Stoutt High School, Wade W. Tobin, was released from Peebles Hospital today, October 3, 2012 and is said to be home resting.

This information was confirmed by family spokesman Julian Willock.  Mr. Willock told this news site that his “brother was released today”, however, it remains unclear when he will return to work.

Mr. Tobin was admitted to Peebles Hospital on September 21, 2012 after complaining of chest pains.

Mr. Tobin began his tenure as Acting Principal of the largest high school in the Virgin Islands in September of this year after Principal Melissa Amey proceeded on study leave- another story firstly and accurately reported by this news site.

Minister for Education and Culture Myron V. Wawlyn made the official announcement some two months after Virgin Islands News Online broke the story.

"Today I would like to formally announce that Mr. Wade Tobin will now be taking over the leadership of our largest secondary school, the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS). As you all know, Ms. Melissa Amey, Principal of the school is currently on study leave," Hon. Walwyn, said on August 27, 2012 during the Professional Day for Educators held at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, at the H. L. Stoutt Community College.

In his first public appearance on September 7, 2012 as Acting Principal of the ESHS, Mr. Tobin, speaking at the first General Assembly meeting for the 2012/2013 school year held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex, called on all students of the school to respect themselves-girls to be virtuous and boys to stay away from smoking.

In his 25-minute pep-talk to his students, he urged them to help create a `Culture of Excellence.´

Mr. Tobin must take in with stess. He dealing with a shortage of teachers, mouldy classrooms, inadequate facilities and teaching equipment, tools and supplies. Not to mention disguntled and fed up teachers. It is hard to believe that education is seriously the ocus for our new Minister. I really can't see how hard it is to maintain the couple of public schools we have n Tortola. Shame on you Myron. That 85,000 you paid Ayana was not necessary [I know and you kow there were organizations willing to do this book for free]. That money could have been to better use!

you people are really sick.....what does the new minister have to do with Mr. Tobin being ill. You on here talking about shortage of teachers, moldy classrooms etc. all these things didnt just happen as for the mold it growing a long time why you dont go ask former minister Fahie who waste thousands of dollars far more than the 85000 the concrete alone he put down all through the high school cost that much, go up and look at the 2 air condition unit he has on a classroom which is no bigger than a small bedroom and they cant turn on yet....Dont get me started stop coming on here talking politics if you dont know what is going on. Try to rally around Mr. Tobin to better the high school...

Mr Tobin, please be very care and make sure you cover yourself daily under the power blood of Jesus Christ. With your recent appointment, they are many who are against it and would try to attack you spiritually and have already started. Upon your return to that institution, you will need to ensure that you are protected from all the attacks that will be hurled your way. I cover you now in the Name of Jesus Christ and decree that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
