It was a comeback series win for East, after falling behind 1-2 on Friday night, August 21, 2026, and then rebounding the following night to level the series.

Although enjoying home court advantage, VG Elite were unable to match the determination of East, who were also buoyed on by their many supporters, including Eight District Representative, Hon Marlon A. Penn.

Basketball: East & VG Elite clash in winner takes all tonight on VG

- as 2026 Winston Bolus National District League series levelled 2-2

After falling behind 1-2 to VG Elite on Friday, August 21, 2026, East levelled matters in the Best of 5 Basketball Championship of the 2026 Winston Bolus National District League on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Facing a do-or-die situation at the A. Jeffrey Caines Arena on Virgin Gorda last night, East ensured a Game 5 by winning 56-52.

Terrific trio!

Romain D. Minott, Jahmai Jones, and Demoii A. Dagou were the chief players who kept East’s hopes alive. The trio ended with 11 points each.

Shakeem Tyson netted 10 points.

Killven M. Samuel top-scored for VG Elite with 12 points, while Kimron S. Telemaque had 11.

The final game will be played at the same venue from 8:00 PM tonight.

Basketball fans on Tortola can cheer their team on live and in person by utilizing the 6:30 PM ferry from Beef Island and returning at 10:45 PM.
