UPDATE: ‘De Crew’ treats First Impressions students
Mr Sherwin A. Peters, Mr. Rayon D. Bethune and George C. Ramsammy are ‘De Crew’ and they brought much joy to the hearts of the students of the First Impression Primary School on Tuesday March 11, 2014. Mr Peters explained that the decision to give the treat to the students was birthed after hearing of a promise a teacher had made to her class.
“She said she had promised to buy ice cream for her class and there and then the idea came that ‘De Crew’ can fulfil her wish and even make it a treat for the entire school,” Mr Peters said.
There was nothing but joy on the faces of the little children as they received their treat especially as their request for a special flavour from La Dolce Vita Italian home-made Ice cream was facilitated. The ice cream shop was one of the sponsors for the group’s activity held on March 2, 2014.

Team Jamaica takes Guyanese Mash VI domino win
BAUGHER’S BAY, Tortola, VI – With a sizable population in the Virgin Islands, Guyanese have been coming together to celebrate Guyana’s 44th Republic Anniversary. Last night March 2, 2014 the celebrations came to an end with a Bar-B-Que, Lime and Domino competition at Da Spot, Baugher’s Bay.
The promotion was one organized by a group of Guyanese called “De Crew” who said that the celebrations was done yesterday to also usher in the VI national holiday which celebrates H. Lavity Stoutt’s birthday.
“We are here, we got Mash home in Guyana and Stoutt birthday here so it was a good thing to have this togetherness,” said one of the Organizer Mr. Rayon D. Bethune.
The highlight of the activity was the Domino completion which saw four teams registering to compete for cash incentives and a championship trophy. Though out-numbered with three Guyanese teams to one Jamaican team, the Jamaicans were in no way afraid of the challenge.
This resulted in their, at the end of the night, emerging the champions of the very close competition and taking with them the championship trophy and the cash prize.
‘De Crew’ said that they were very happy about the mixture of Caribbean and other peoples at the event which they said show that, “We are one Caribbean.” The team of men were especially thankful to their sponsors Road Town Whole Sale, M and M, Paint Factory, K and B electrical services, Leroy’s Barber Shop, BVI Hot Spot, People Zone, Mala’s West Indian Delight, Stylers Car Wash, Bob’s Dingy Service and La Dolce Vita Italian Home-made Ice cream.
