SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Former Speaker of the House of Assembly and businessman Mr Julian Willock and his Third District Committee have announced a change of venue for the annual back-to-school event slated for today, Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Mr Willock, in a statement last evening, noted that “due to the ongoing construction at Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, our Back-to-School Giveaways has been moved to the Valerie O. Thomas Community Centre [Sea Cows Bay]”.

The event is scheduled to take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Mr Willock and his committee have stated that “we do this for the children and their Education.”

A family fun day

At the event today, there will be giveaways of over 75 backpacks filled with many school essentials, as well as music, food and a motivational speaker. On hand will be a barber offering complementary haircuts, along with the chance for some lucky person to win a laptop from No Limit Construction, along with winning gas vouchers provided by Delta Petroleum.

While there is no registration, Mr Willock noted that the school supplies will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.

Third District Back-to-School Giveaways set for August 31, 2025

Former Speaker of the House of Assembly (HoA) and Businessman Mr Julian Willock, along with his Third District Committee, will host the annual Back-to-School Giveaways in the Sea Cows Bay area this weekend.

According to the committee, the event has been moved from the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School grounds, due to the ongoing construction at the school, to the adjacent Forbes land next to the colourful gazebo.

The Third District Back-to-School initiative is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5 PM. The bag packs and other school items will be distributed by 4:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis.

Win items at event

Music will be provided by Selector Taz, with light food and a fun time. There will also be opportunities to win gas vouchers from Delta Petroleum, and a lucky student will receive a laptop compliments of Rajah A. Smith of No Limit Construction. 

The event, in its third year, is also powered by Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies. No registration is required.

    Aaron had something similar not to long ago. Monkey see monkey do. Now if these people truly had the country at heart they would of said. Hey we have our differences in beliefs but have our island at hearts. Let's join together and do this back to school event great.
