UPDATE: Carey & New Heroes back to winning ways
New Heroes won 78-73 at de Maaspoort, making good use of home court advantage.
Virgin Islander Norville S. Carey aka ‘Banana’ was again a main feature, scoring 14 points and used his rebounding superiority effectively in the dying minutes to ensure New Heroes the win for the home crowd.
Keshun Sherrill was the top scorer for New Heroes with 26 points.
The winners also saw the return of Anthony Marshall after being out with injuries for several weeks.
New Heroes Den Bosch next play Den Helder Suns on March 8, 2018.

Stellar night for Carey but New Heroes’ winning streak snapped
Virgin Islands’ basketball player campaigning in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL), Norville S. Carey aka ‘Banana’ had yet another superstar night for his team New Heroes Den Bosch; however, an impressive 11-game winning streak was snapped by home team Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden On February 10, 2018.
Playing in front of a crowd numbering 1995, just 5 short of Vijf Meihal, the game venue in Leiden, Netherlands, Carey came off the bench to register a game high 21 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes of play.
New Heroes Den Bosch; however, lost the away game 61-79 as Carey struggled to find enough support from the teammates, none of whom were able to reach double figure scores.
Worthy de Jong led Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden to the victory, scoring 20 points, while Carrington Love netted 18 and Jessey Voorn 13 points.
New Heroes were not up to the task defensively as some 19 points by their rivals were scored from turnovers and 42 were second chance points.
Carey and New Heroes will hope to quickly dust themselves off and return to winning ways when they face Apollo Amsterdam on home court on Thursday February 15, 2018.
