UPDATE: Bag of $$ taken following shooting @ Paraquita Bay- RVIPF
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), initial reports indicate that a local businesswoman arrived home at Paraquita Bay around 7:30 pm with her day’s proceeds.
“Upon exiting her vehicle she heard the voice of male demanding money. The mother of businesswoman, who was at home at the time, heard noise outside and attempted to exit the house and was shot,” the RVIPF stated in a press release today, April 19, 2021.

The assailant or assailants made off with a bag containing a sum of money. No one else was injured in the incident, police said.
“Officers of Major Crime Team are following a number of leads into last night’s robbery that has left one female in critical condition.”
Police said persons who may have information into the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators in the incident are asked to contact the Major Crime Team at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. “All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

Woman shot during robbery in Paraquita Bay
Word just reaching our news centre from our Team of Reporters on the ground is that a woman was shot during a robbery in Paraquita Bay, Tortola tonight, April 18, 2021.
According to reports, the woman was rushed to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime after 7:00 pm.
There have been conflicting reports as to where exactly the incident took place, with some sources saying a bar while others have said at the woman's home.
