Hodge clocked 21.76 to finish behind the reigning 100m Olympic Champion, Julian Alfred of St Lucia. Alfred stopped the clock at 21.51, a new World Lead (previously held by Hodge), Meet Record, and National Record.

Third was the reigning 200m Olympic Champion, Gabbie Thomas of the USA, in a time of 21.84.

Fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, were Americans Kayla White (22.04), Cambrea Sturgil (22.40), and Anavia Battle (22.42).

Sixth was Fabienne Hoenke of Switzerland.

Hodge to face Thomas & Alfred in Monaco Diamond League on Friday

- Adaejah T. Hodge will make her 200m debut at the 2026 Diamond League

Fresh off a podium finish in the 100m in her debut race at the 2026 Diamond League on July 4, 2026, Virgin Islands’ Adaejah T. Hodge will now compete in the Women’s 200m at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Having mixed it up with reigning World Champion in the 100m, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, and 2023 World Champion Sha'Carri L. Richardson, Hodge will now be up against reigning Olympic Champion in the 100m, Julien Alfred of St Lucia, and reigning Olympic Champion in the 200m, American Gabby Thomas.

‘A showdown of epic proportions’

Hodge tops the chart with a 21.68s Season Best and World Lead, while Thomas and Alfred have Season's Best of 21.70 and 21.86 respectively. 

“The 2026 Monaco Diamond League 200M women's race will be a showdown of epic proportions.

“We don't want to speculate about the final results. However, what we know for certain is that Adaejah Hodge is the evidence that a changing of the global guards is at hand for the title of Speed Queen,” the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) stated on its social media page.

As for the other athletes in the field, Cambrea Sturgis holds a 21.93 Personal Best. Kayla White brings 22.07, while France's Gémima Joseph will run in front of a home European crowd. She currently holds a 22.57 Personal Best.
