ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Commentator and consultant Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline has referred to unvaccinated taxi drivers and vendors as ‘acting the fool’ for refusing to inoculate against the COVID-19 virus in the best interest of their industry.

Addressing the issue of tourism workers still refusing to get the vaccine, Skelton-Cline called out unvaccinated tourism workers on the Tuesday, September 7, 2021, edition of his Honestly Speaking show on ZBVI 780 am.

“You want to keep acting the fool? You want to keep thinking that we don’t live in a brand-new world? All I’m saying to you is a better and more effective way of protecting your livelihood, protecting your industry for the long haul is taking advantage of anything that’s available to you to ensure the safety, security of life and livelihood,” he said.

Skelton-Cline continued, ‘Stop getting into these arguments, stop creating divisions where they should not be any divisions,” he said.

Vaccine an efficient way to protect livelihood - Skelton-Cline

The commentator further encouraged locals to let the tourists have the use of the beaches for the time, given the territory needs the money from the industry.

“You think I will be taxi service provider got a vaccine and don’t get vaccinated and then driving around people… and then I go home to my wife and my child and then contaminate, infect my whole house especially when we don’t have a vaccine for all our children yet?” he further questioned.

Since becoming available in February, the Government of the Virgin Islands (VI) has been pushing vaccination as the best tool to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab, which is given in two doses about four weeks apart for full inoculation against the virus, is available in the Virgin Islands free of cost.

I will not patronize the unvaccinated vendors and taxi drivers. Just the other day a taxi stop to pick me up, he was not wearing a mask and I was. I asked him if he was vaccinated and he said no he have no intentions of doing so. I send him along on his merry way. He missed out on a $30.00 trip and a $10.00 tip.

Keep your $40. I guess you buy your groceries amongst fully vaccinated people. When the cruise ships arrive, you will not find any vaccinated taxi driver to take you anywhere. Start walking or go buy a car, if you can drive and can afford one.

I think that the taxis should be certified as having a vaccinated or non-vaccinated driver. They should have a big sign on the rrod.
I am not prepared to get into a taxi with a non-vaccinated driver.

All the Taxi Drivers need to do, which they should have since last year, is surround themselves with a plexiglass and a slot for passengers to put the money in and to give change back. Taxi's have AC, so the driver will not get hot. The drivers should always wear a mask for their own and the passengers safety, whether vaccinated or not. Every time someone ask me if I am vaccinated, I tell them that is my personal business, because if I say yes, some call me stupid and a sheep, of I say no, they call me stupid and irresponsible. I let them figure it out for themselves because I am always masked and behind a plexiglass to protect me from the vaccinated and the unvaccinated, who both can contaminate me with their germs. I rest my case.

What about dying struggling for your last breaths through an intubator? You good with that? Or, what about watching a beloved member of your family die like that as you say good bye through a plexiglass window? Where does it say you have the right to infect others?

It is your body, no question. But your “choice”? That is debatable. We have been in the midst of an evolving Public Health crisis, due to an infectious respiratory virus that spreads through the air, for the past year and a half. This is a time when adhering to the Social Contract is imperative to protect all of society. Our tools against Covid are proper masking, physical distancing, hand hygiene and, last but perhaps most important, vaccination against Covid by a major portion of the population. If you are over 12 (maybe it’s 18 in this country?) and you are “choosing” not to vaccinate (whether out of fear, or obstinacy, or WHATEVER) you are part of the continuing problem of the pandemic.
If I were your sister, I would encourage you to be part of the solution and get yourself fully vaccinated to protect your health, as well as the health of your family, your friends, and the greater BVI community. Please.

With the level of the unvaxed in the Territory, in a surge, our family members vaxed or unvaxed are at heightened risk of dying from treatable conditions because the medical resources are being exhausted by people who chose not to take the vaccine. It is at that level the focus on selfishness should be because people expect their individual right to choose not to be vaccinated should trump what is in the best interests of the community as a whole. Many of these are the same people who are bothered by having to wear a mask to keep the people around them safe. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Some of taxi drivers are very dishonest, like that fat taxi driver who stole his passenger $1,200 after the passenger wallet fell out in his bus. Another passenger pick up the wallet and handed it to him so he can return it to the passenger but the driver took out the $1,200 out the wallet and said he didn’t get it with any money inside it. But while he was being search by the police, the $1,200 fell from underneath his fat belly. Lol . What a shame on this guy and yet he is one of those who is always talking down ppl name in is bus. Carma does happen in its own time.

It is time for you all to stop acting the fool and targeting unvaccinated people. Who give you all authority to do that. God the creator dont do that. He give free will to chose. People are hesitant because of the result that they are seeing and they are only speaking about one side of the coin. There are two sides to a coin. Lets hear about the damages that is taken place right now in the BVI and world wide to our brothers and sisters after taken this jab. The people of the BVI are very pride full and dont really want people to know whats happening to them after being vaccinated but the medical offices have the data. Be the voice for both sides and you dont have to call names.

Two doses of vaccine for full inoculation and booster shots every 4-6 months while your immune system is rendered useless and your DNA is compromised. Imagine a so called man of God herding his flock into satan's camp because of money. Stop supporting the fallen angels depopulation agenda. So much for you and leadership.

Sir, the vaccinated can still catch and spread the virus, the unvaccinated can also catch and spread the virus. Do your research. First they were saying once you’re vaccinated, you won’t get the virus, you’re safe, and you can put the mask away, now they are saying, you have to wear the mask even though you are vaccinated because you can still be a spreader of the virus. I’m not saying that people should or shouldn’t get the vaccine, let that be their choice. The most important thing is taking care of yourself and protect your family at all cost.

    Point to note...

a number of persons who are encouraging others to become vaccinated are not themselves. Many who claimed to have been vaccinated with vaccination cards or proof of vaccination, have not been vaccinated but have used their political links and other influences to obtain legitimate cards.

Soon everyone in the BVI is going to be mandated to take the vaccine. Just watch. And it will be a good thing. You all here with the blah, blah about the vaccine this and the vaccine that. You unvaccinated ones that is on birth control the same company is making the pills that you are taking everyday. That infant milk that you are paying an arm and a leg for, that powder is developed and made in a lab. So which is the lesser of both evils?

Fine with us. If the frontline personnel in the BVI tourism business are not all vaccinated then our large groups of fully vaccinated tourists will just book our holidays somewhere else that is SAFE because ALL the personnel are fully vaccinated. No problem.

You dummies do not know who is vaccinated or not. I heard someone say they were vaxxed, and then when the person left, they started laughing, knowing they only told them what they wanted to hear. The fact of the matter is, wear your masks, keep distancing and sanitizing so we will all be safer...vaxxed or not! Stop this stupid war of who is or who is not!

You all upset because most people choose not to participate in the Biggest World experiment known to mankind? Most of you took the jab because you were convinced that it would allow you more freedom(travel etc). It's Ok if you can still catch and spread the virus as long as it keeps you from the hospital because the focus is on freedom to do what you want. No Herd Immunity talks anymore right cause we are seeing that was a lie. (Look Gibraltar and Israel) Now we're seeing a breakthrough in the USVI of a fully vaccinated person. Now they will talk about it here after Breakthrough have been recorded and going on for months now on the news Worldwide. They behave as though we don't have TVs and computers and can't understand what's going on. Trust the vaccine, wear your mask , wash your hands and social distance while the unvaccinated continue to wear the mask, wash their hands and social distance. Trust Your Vaccine!!
