UN removes cannabis from ‘most dangerous drugs’ category

Information coming out from the UN noted that the CND zeroed-in on the decision to remove cannabis from Schedule IV of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, where it was listed alongside deadly, addictive opioids, including heroin.
For 59 years, the UN had place cannabis under strict control schedules that even discouraged its use for medical purposes and the latest decision came as the CND’s 53 Member States voted to removed cannabis from the list.
“With an historic vote of 27 in favour, 25 against, and one abstention, the CND has opened the door to recognizing the medicinal and therapeutic potential of the commonly-used but still largely illegal recreational drug,” a UN press report said.
The report also hinted that the decision could drive additional scientific research into the plant’s long-heralded medicinal properties and act as a catalyst for countries to legalize the drug for medicinal use, and reconsider laws on its recreational use.
Gov Jaspert yet to assent Cannabis Licensing Act, 2020
Meanwhile in the Virgin Islands (VI), even as the territory has long set the foundations for its establishment of a medicinal marijuana industry, the outgoing Governor Mr Augustus J.U. Jaspert is yet to properly justify his lack of assent to the Cannabis Licensing Act, 2020, passed in the House of Assembly since July of 2020.
The UN said currently, more than 50 countries have adopted medicinal cannabis programmes while Canada, Uruguay and 15 US states have legalized its recreational use, with Mexico and Luxembourg close to becoming the third and fourth countries to do so.
The Cannabis Licensing Act is one that sets the framework for the territory to legally establish the proposed industry with Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1), saying that the hold-up is now costing the VI’s economy and impacting job creation that should have emerged from an already established medical marijuana industry.

These ***** people needs to die, we fed up of them now.
Such global conspiracy for the wealthy countries to get rich and keep lesser nations down! Those "bigger" nations never wants us to prosper. They enjoy seeing us in a continual state of needs, wants and dross.
Be wise my people!
I must say, we should and must ALWAYS obey the laws of the land and while it may be illegal now, we must act accordingly and don't break the laws.
