UK PM allegedly failed to isolate when exposed to Covid positive case
The Prime Minister had recorded his official New Year message on December 31, 2020, as the nation was on the brink of a devastating second wave of Covid.
According to the Daily Mirror on January 4, 2022, No 10’s videographer, who sources claimed stood “close” to Mr Johnson during the recording, later tested positive for coronavirus.
They informed Downing Street chiefs and other colleagues in the room at the time were asked to self-isolate at home for 10 days.
‘Boris’ allegedly failed to isolate
But the PM was not among them, the Daily Mirror alleged.
Just five days later, on January 4, 2021, Mr Johnson announced the country would be plunged into its third national lockdown.
One source told the Mirror that the videographer, who was not wearing a face-mask, had stood “face-to-face” with the PM for around 15 minutes.
They also suggested that the aide was standing just within two metres of Mr Johnson during the recording.
Under official guidance at the time, those who came within two metres, for more than 15 minutes, of somebody who later tested positive were required to self-isolate.
The quarantine rules also applied to those who came into face-to-face contact, within one metre and for any length of time, with a person who then developed Covid.
Downing Street denies breach
Downing Street said the recording had not breached social distancing rules so Mr Johnson had not been required to self-isolate.
But photos on the No 10 Flickr account, taken by the videographer, raise questions over whether the distance rules had been breached.
The No 10 spokesman added: “The Prime Minister has self-isolated on a number of previous occasions as per the regulations.”
Mr Johnson sparked fury last July when he and Rishi Sunak tried to use a pilot “test and release” scheme to avoid self-isolating after coming into contact with Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid who had Covid.
Within hours the pair were forced into an embarrassing U-turn amid a public outcry over double standards, with the PM then spending 10 days alone at his grace-and-favour country estate.
The PM faced further criticism last August for refusing to go into self-isolation despite sharing a flight to Scotland with another aide who tested positive later that same day.

So if he stood there for 13.5 minutes then it would be OK since it wasn't 15 full minutes?
If he was 2.25 metres away then no isolation needed right? Since it is more than 2 metres. Right?
Stop the madness and move on. Common sense please!
Furthermore him trying to skip out on isolation twice is a big red flag that says he’s more important than anyone else and he will break the rules to suit himself. Look for no favors because he will only do what benefits him and HIS UK.
