LONDON, United Kingdom- Mr Frank Zacharias Robin Goldsmith has sensationally quit as a government minister and blasted United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s record – a day after he was criticised by a parliamentary watchdog for attacking its work on Partygate.

Lord Goldsmith, who was working on the environment brief at the foreign office and was also the Minister for Overseas Territories, accused the prime minister of “apathy” on climate change issues.

“Even if this existential challenge leaves you personally unmoved, there is a world of people who do care very much. And you will need their votes,” he wrote to Mr Sunak.

According to The Independent today, June 30, 2023, Lord Goldsmith’s resignation comes less than 24 hours after the Conservatives suffered a double political blow – losing a key court challenge against their Rwanda deportations policy, and taking heavy criticism from the damning privileges committee report.

Lord Goldsmith was an ally of Boris Johnson

Downing Street said yesterday, June 29, 2023, that the prime minister had full “confidence” in Lord Goldsmith – who was criticised by the watchdog along with other Tories.

The committee had blasted “vociferous attacks” by allies of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson against its investigation into the former prime minister, accusing them of an “unprecedented and coordinated” campaign to impede its work.

In Lord Goldsmith’s case, the cross-party group of MPs took issue with a tweet in which he characterised its work as a “kangaroo court” and “witch hunt” against Mr Johnson.

But in a lengthy resignation letter to Rishi Sunak on Friday morning, June 30, 2023, Lord Goldsmith said he was leaving the government because it was “simply uninterested” in the climate emergency.

'I accept your resignation'- PM Rishi Sunak

Responding to the peer’s resignation letter, PM Sunak wrote back: “I accept your resignation.

“You were asked to apologise for your comments about the Privileges Committee as we felt they were incompatible with your position as a minister of the crown. You have decided to take a different course.”

Ha ha ha..I like how Rishi expose he backside. Had nothing to do with climate issues. So all the while he coming here smiling and taking photos with our Premier and making promises about lifting Order in Council, he was seeking to fulfil Boris Johnson's agenda with the BVI. They all being exposed.

A house of distraction, deflection, dysfunction, deception,,projection, etc., masquerading as an effective and model government, trying to enforce on others what it is struggling to do. But might is right./White. Nevertheless, the UK’s poor performance and example does not give the BVI license, permission,an excuse to misbehave, 0ergorm poorly, fail to maximize its budget efficiency, etc. It and its people must do the right things for the right reasons at the right time, at the right cost, despite colonialism chokehold. Colonialism is a monopoly game where the BVI has no capital, assets, ie, it does not have much control of its affairs . Moreover, it does not matter who is the Minister of OTs, for they are all reading from the same script and singing from the same hymnal, etc, ie, mount Olympus, FCO, UK government, crown, etc. 6 of one , half a dozen of the same. Colonialism is an exclusionary, exclusive club. The BVI must unite, plan, organize to develop its own self-empowerment plan.

Irregardless of. the found faults of the UK,no way no time no how can these VI survive with the current demographic of Black semiliteratepoverty and crime as a national and cultural pastime that.it has engineered and ikmowingly installed.. Social crumble and degradation from every angle. Education is subpar with graduates having to take remedial and Community College courses to attempt a 4year College education at unrecognizable schools.
Not at all a good future for these VI.

The UK cannot keep a Prime Minister nor any Minister of Government for too long. This is shameful.
