UK Director of OTs Robbie Bulloch visits VI ahead of constitutional negotiations

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Virgin Islands (VI) has expressed its commitment to enhancing engagement with Overseas Territories following the recent visit of Robbie Bulloch, Director for Overseas Territories and Polar at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

Mr Bulloch paid a courtesy call on Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), on Monday, April 27, 2026.

According to a social media post by the Office of the Premier, the discussions between the Premier and Bulloch centred on constitutional negotiations, airport development, and security considerations, reaffirming a shared commitment to progress and improved governance.

Purpose of visit

The purpose of Mr Bulloch's visit was to discuss plans for constitutional negotiations that will be carefully evaluated by the United Kingdom (UK) Government, to hear about the progress in implementing good governance reforms, and to gain a better understanding of the security challenges facing the Virgin Islands.

During his visit, Robbie Bulloch first met with the Premier, followed by a meeting with Permanent Secretaries. He also toured the 911 Centre, the Road Town Police Station, and the Cane Garden Bay Police Station.
