ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Governor Daniel Pruce welcomed the United Kingdom’s (UK) Defence Attaché to the Caribbean, Lieutenant Colonel Simon Dack MBE, and Warrant Officer Class 1 Marc Jefferies, Regimental Sergeant Major of Cayman Islands Regiment, to the Virgin Islands.

They were in the Virgin Islands (VI) the week of October 5, 2026, for a series of engagements focused on security, resilience and disaster preparedness, a Facebook post from the Governor’s Office said. 

Packed schedule

During their visit, the two men met with the Premier, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Richard Ullger, and Director of Disaster Management, Mr Jasen H. Penn, and officials to discuss shared priorities and opportunities for continued cooperation. 

These discussions covered disaster response capabilities, security partnerships and support for strengthening the Territory's resilience. 

Lieutenant Colonel Dack and Warrant Officer Class 1 Jefferies also engaged with representatives of the Virgin Islands Cadet Corps and discussed future collaboration in support of the safety, security and preparedness of the Virgin Islands.
