ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A two vehicle accident at Fisher’s Lane in the vicinity of Rite Breeze Superette, Road Reef slowed traffic down considerably yesterday evening, February 23, 2012 for more than half of an hour.

When Virgin Islands News Online arrived on the scene around 6:29 p.m., a Tactical Unit Officer was regulating the traffic flow.

According to reports, one of the vehicles was coming out from Road Reef and the other heading in a westerly direction when the accident occurred a little after 6 p.m. No injuries were reported. Interestingly, only one vehicle seems to have been damaged.

Furthermore, a traffic officer was observed taking statements from the occupants of the vehicles.

No one was officially charged up to late last evening.

Just last month, another two vehicle mishap occurred in the same area.

Tola got roads? I visited Guyana sometime ago expecting to see really backwards roads and was shocked to see how well built they are - having also been to most of the caribbean islands i can say that Tola have some of the worst roads. So lets get the facts straight - Tolans cant drive and Tolands cant build roads!

The guy that drives the green and yellow car drives like a lunatic at the best of times, I have seen him almost cause a collision on more than one occassion and have been very tempted to go and report him to the police. I am glad that he is now on their radar.

Most often a car runs into the vehicle in front of them it is their fault! Driving too fast or following too close. I must admit that coming out of some locations such as this Road Reef and even further down at the Prospect Reef, the view of the oncoming traffic is difficult due to obstructions at the peripheral. Anytime you have to inch out into the traffic to see if it is safe to proceed it is a risky and dangerous situation. Especially if there is a speeding car on it's way by.
