Two released in Crystal Nightclub shooting - police

In the early Wednesday morning shooting, Javeron Heskey, 19, of Johnson Ghut, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was found masked. A gun was also found at the scene.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The two men arrested in relation to the shooting incident outside Crystal Nightclub on January 18, 2012 were released pending further enquiries, a police press release stated.

However, the Police is in consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions' Office and a case file has been prepared for the DPP’s consideration. In addition, Her Majesty’s Coroner is being updated, and investigations are continuing, the release added.

In the early Wednesday morning shooting, Javeron Heskey, 19, of Johnson Ghut, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was found masked. A gun was also found at the scene. Dr Bruce Hyma, Chief Medical Examiner for Miami Dade Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting a post mortem examination of the deceased.

A second man was taken to the hospital where he is still being treated for gunshot wounds. His condition is not considered life threatening.

While the police are still encouraging witnesses of the incident to come forward, they are not looking for any other suspects. Persons who may have been at the scene of the incident are being encouraged to contact officers of the RVIPF Major Crime Team at 468-2718.
