Two injured in St Croix, USVI drive-by shooting
FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI — The [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) has released the names of the victims injured during Saturday’s, March 12, 2016 drive-by shooting incident that occurred near a Concordia gas station on St Croix, US Virgin Islands.
The occurrence left a maroon Mercedes Benz riddled with bullets and two men who were traveling in it injured. It also activated a manhunt that spanned the Concordia intersection near the gas station, all the way to the stoplights near the Community United Methodist School and Daycare.
The police, however, returned empty-handed, according to a press release issued on Sunday March 13, 2016 by the force’s Media Specialist, Sakeeda Freeman.
The victims were identified as 24-year-old Kareem Matias of the Harrigan Court area, who sustained gunshot wounds to his right hand and left leg, and 21-year-old Laquan Hill of Hannah’s Rest, who sustained gunshot wounds to his left hand and a graze to his left shoulder.
According to the release, the victims’ wounds were non-life threatening.
