Looks like a road can be cut by the shore to go east.

Some persons come around that corner too wide trying to avoid the rough concrete. The road needs to be graded. Hope everyone is OK.

You are correct. Not only too wide but too fast knowing good and well they are veering into oncoming traffic. I have been wondering for years why the grade with the concrete has not been smoothed out. So many times I hold my breath coming around there. Pleased let the people involved be alright. I know that truck driver had to be scared to death.

We have been begging for a long time to do something with that road as it pertains to that concrete. Deaf ears and afraid to mash some companies because of status core. The poor and needy have no say. Blind eyes deaf ears you name it but we going to put 250,000.00 to do what? Like me or hate me truth is truth and it hurts at times. Face the fact those rough roads can take down this territory in every sector people lives matter.

From now on, I am NOT going up any hill behind a truck. A lot of people are not maintaining their vehicles. It also could be a matter of not shifting into the right gear and panicking. When that accident happened weeks ago with that much smaller vehicle the barrier had become compromised, but still held in place. With the weight, and the new condition of the barrier, it was bound to give-way. I just hope everyone is okay...gray vehicle occupants, it's a good thing you didn't tailgate that truck!

Infra-structure fixes are a one-way expense whereas the Brandywine Bay event may be an expense and stimulus.

there look like some roadworks are being done at a section there and driver cannot see the cones until they are up close to it which is very dangerous. I hope that is not the cause of this accident. A warning should be placed lower infroming drivers of the piece of road that they have to swerve from.

Yep, especially in through the country persons avoid the side of the road, so they drive in the middle. You have to dodge holes and cars!

Every where you turn the roads are in a mess. If you think sleepy hill is bad check Fahie hill road up to Bellevue. Yet we spending spending spending on the wrong things. Where is our priority? After the roads are mashing up everyone's vehicles. Then when things happen they are quick to play the blame game no maintenance. The roads are just terrible in the BVI. While we are not sure of the circumstances with this incident. We still have a problem the roads, the roads, the roads has a major part to play in many accidents in the VI.

Hope the drivers are okay. The goats have also come up from Brandywine Bay, and have caused rocks to fall everywhere, so drivers go wide. That whole stretch needs attention. Cutting into the side of the roads is not helping either, as it causes more plants and roots to be dislodged along with them. A wall or some support from the dip to the dumpster needs to be put in.

What a travesty. Thank God that no one was injured in the accident. This is very unfortunate that the truck ran off the road. However, there are some fundamentals that must be taken into consideration when driving. I have been driving here for over thirty-five years and I was never involved in any accident because I practice defensive driving. Driving without Care, Courtesy, Consideration, Compassion and Commonsense will result in accident. Despite how competent a driver is, if the condition of the road is not safe for driving, then the driver needs to drive at a slower speed. I know some people will not appreciate what is stated, however, if one should take my suggestion and follow the five C, then we will reach our destination safely.

yes, driving responsibly and taking precaution is a must. But it is God's mercies is what kept you safe. Be as careful as human nature can permit and things can change before you blink. Give God the acknowledgement and not your own self

These Drivers have to be responsible..This been happening to often now...1/ Trying to change gear in the middle of the hill is a very risky move, put your low gear in from the bottom and take your time up the hill..2/ Make sure these vehicles are working well before they leave their base...3/ Get capable, common sense drivers..Too often. Good we haven't lost any live in these incidents..

Who will attend the $250k concert while the roads to drive to and from the concert is trash. While water is unstable and the electricity ain’t reliable. It’s crazy how just to wuk up ain’t doesn’t matter if it’s a $250k or $10m. Anyone who attends is the reasons this place is backwards.

the territory really needs local political leadership that truly have the best interests of our people and fix things for the benefit of our people

Mr politician please get it together and stop trying to impress outsiders and look out for those that went to the political poles and voted for you

Dont recall hearing anything from NDP, PVIM or PU about the 250,000,00 spending
  • Government (08/06/2023, 08:28) Like (5) Dislike (0) Reply
I blame the Government, because so much accidents happened on that road before because people are trying to dodge the rough concrete on the floor. Not saying that they are correct for dodging but thats the easiest way to get up that hill. Yet they never made any efforts to grate the road off and repave it. Please work on the roads for the entire BVI because people are having too much dodging to do causing many accidents which could result to many senseless deaths.

Also the government needs to start charging people for littering and dropping materials on the road. The public needs to also take sincere responsibility and report these matters with video evidence Ofcourse so that the company or person can be charge.

In other places thats what is done, but we live in a lawless country anyways:)
