Trial against Greta Thunberg begins in Copenhagen
COPENHAGEN, Denmark- Greta Thunberg is present at the district court in Copenhagen, where a trial of the activist began on Wednesday.
The Danish prosecutor is demanding a fine for Thunberg's participation in a protest outside the University of Copenhagen over the situation in Gaza in September 2024, while the activist believes she should be acquitted. She is being charged with the Danish equivalent of trespassing.
It was the organization Studerande Mod Besættelsen (Students Against the Occupation) that wanted Danish universities to end their collaborations with Israeli universities and planned to occupy a Danish university's museum building.
