ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Virgin Islands Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. “As the coordinating ministry, the Premier’s Office continues to support the other ministries and reviewers in fulfilling their obligations under the plan,” he added.

The Premier detailed that to date, a few members of staff have been assigned to the Implementation Unit and work has commenced on developing the budget for the Unit and for implementing the recommendations, drafting the implementation plan and a communications strategy.

The staff are also reviewing policy documents and developing terms of reference for the reviewers.

Recruitment of addition staff to come

The Premier said while recruitment of additional staff is at an advanced stage, within the coming week more information will be issued to provide further details.

Hon Wheatley said amongst other progress, the Government of National Unity, the public officers in the respective Ministries, and all parties including the Governor and the Governor’s Group are working hard and are seriously committed to delivering the implementation plan.

Still waiting, listen, watching for real meaningful changes. Haven't seen any real shake up. I have to give this Governor credit, he is really patient and trying his best to work along with us...All we are getting is lip service...We need to see real moves being make in Immigration, Labour, NHI, Survey and Ports. Anyone knows who is the head at Ports?
