NASSAU, The Bahamas– The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (Commission) is pleased to share that it participated in the 40th Annual CANTO Conference and Trade Exhibition, held from July 12 to 17, 2025, in Nassau, The Bahamas.

The Commission’s delegation included Chairman Mr Vance M. Lewis, Commissioner Mr Wendell M. Gaskin, Chief Executive Officer Mr Guy L. Malone, and Human Resources Manager Mrs Denise Stoutt-Johnney. They joined regional regulators, telecommunications providers, government officials, and industry leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue on the advancement of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) throughout the Caribbean.

Hosted under the theme “Towards a Unified and Sustainable Caribbean Gigabit Society”, CANTO 2025 featured a dynamic agenda of panel discussions, technical workshops, and exhibitions focused on key topics such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, spectrum management, regulatory development, and innovation. The event served as a valuable forum for regional collaboration and knowledge sharing, reinforcing the importance of digital inclusion and resilience in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

As part of the Commission’s commitment to team development, different members of staff have been afforded the opportunity over the years to attend CANTO, allowing them to gain exposure, build capacity, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the organisation.

CEO Mr Guy L. Malone expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to these discussions, emphasising that “CANTO provides a unique platform for regional engagement. The Commission’s continued participation ensures we remain informed, connected, and proactive in shaping the future of ICT policy and regulation.”

The Commission is proud to serve as an affiliate member and annual sponsor of CANTO, reaffirming its dedication to regional dialogue, partnership, and ICT advancement.

The Commission remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate a dynamic, resilient, and inclusive telecommunications landscape in the Virgin Islands, aligned with regional goals and global best practices.
