Travis Walters to release hot new single

Local artiste Travis Walters, now known as Travie Rozae, will officially release his first single tomorrow since his contract with R.A.Y.D.A.R
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- On Thursday, December 22, Local artiste Travis Walters will officially release his first single, since his contract with R.A.Y.D.A.R - an international entertainment management company.

According to a press release from Follow The Movement's (FTM), the organisation that played a major role in getting Walters the international exposure, the young artist will now be known by his new singing name "Travie Rozae".

The single entitled, “See Her In You” will be played for the first time in the British Virgin Islands at 8:30 am on the ‘Morning Ride’ show aired on ZROD radio, the ‘Third World Man’ show at 10:30 am and also on ZBVI and ZVCR radio throughout the day.

Young Walters first made his mark during Follow The Movement's (FTM) sponsored ZROD Top 7 @ 7 Countdown both last year and this year.

Through the guidance of officials at FTM, Walters was chosen by R.A.Y.D.A.R in September this year to go on a six months program in Atlanta, which currently enables him to record at various professional studios, work with top writers and producers, train with top choreographers, undergo media training, as well as vocal lessons and other talent related training.

Speaking about his brand new single, Walters said that he is very excited about the achievement. “I am very excited due to the fact that my fans can hear my improvement and see me in a different light and also I am hopeful that they can relate to the song and groove to it, given the fact that it’s a dance/pop record,” Walters explained.

According to the budding artist, his new single is about getting over an ex – girlfriend, and afraid of being hurt again. He hopes that his fans can relate to the song.

“It is basically about me liking a girl but something is holding me back from giving her my all. Later on, I find out that it is because I keep seeing my ex girlfriend every time I look at her. It comes from a vulnerable standpoint in which I am afraid to be hurt again. I feel that many youths can relate to this song seeing that a lot of us are vulnerable and afraid to be hurt,” young Walters said.

The song was written by Grammy nominated group, “Rock City,” and according to Walters, he put in countless hours of work into producing the single.

“The writing session took about a day mainly because we wanted to ensure that the song would connect to the many youths that would be playing it from their Ipods, laptops and radios. Next, I had to go through vocal production and training to ensure that all the notes I was singing, were totally correct.”

However, despite the many hours of work, Walters said that the recording session proved to be extremely fun but challenging at the same time. “I was challenged to try new things and hit new notes that I never hit before. At the end of the night I was very pleased because I got a chance to work with very talented writers and a very talented sound engineer, Princeton Lynah,” Walters said.

Fans can expect to hear more from Travis Walters in the near future, as he plans to release more songs ranging from a variety of genres.

“My fans already know, not only do I strive to become a better artiste but I am also striving to become a fashion icon while pursuing this passion of music.”

Speaking about his experience at R.A.Y.D.A.R thus far, Walters said it has been like a dream. According to him, everyone operates like a family and they look out for each other. “I feel very welcomed and comfortable working with them. I feel that if you're not comfortable in your environment, there's no way you can produce anything at your finest. I feel that they are giving and introducing me to the best of the best which ultimately leads to my rapid improvement and I am very happy about that,” Walters expressed.

While the characters and personalities of most international stars change when they become popular, this apparently is not the same for Walters. Since acquiring this new height in his musical career, Walters explained that he has not changed as a person, but rather, he has learned new things about himself as an individual.

“My goal as an artiste is to depict the same image that people from home (The Virgin Islands) see on the big screen. I do not want to depict a fraudulent image in the hope of gaining fans. That's just not me,” the young artiste said.

In offering some advice to other prospective artistes, Walters emphasised that they should love and study their craft and to be confident and fearless. “Be open-minded because trying new things gets you in the door really quickly. No one wants old played out tricks; everybody is always looking for the next big new thing. The music business changes so quickly and no-one wants a has-been.”

He also encourages young artistes to be innovative and think outside the box when creating music.
