ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – In preparation for the Ubersoca Cruise Punk Rock themed Jouvert, the Ministry of Communications and Works has announced that traffic in Road Town, Tortola, will be interrupted to accommodate the event.

New traffic arrangement
Traffic coming from the west will be diverted through MacNamara, continuing to Wailing Road and Fort Charlotte, exiting onto Paul Wattley Road. Additionally, traffic may use Porter Road to Titley Road, continue on Russell Hill, and exit onto Paul Wattley Drive.

Motorists travelling from the east are advised that they will be diverted to Station Avenue, with the option to turn left onto Pickering Road if heading west or right onto Huntums Ghut Road.

Motorists on Fishlock Road should note that only traffic coming from Flemming Street heading east will be allowed, enabling drivers to turn onto Market By-Pass, continue on the highway, and also allowing right turns near the House of Assembly Building.

No traffic permitted at roundabout

Meanwhile, no traffic will be permitted to enter or exit at the roundabout.

Motorists should also be aware that traffic will be allowed on Lloyd Drive, Positive Action Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Administration Drive until 1:00 p.m. After this time, to ensure the banking community can exit safely, these roadways will be fully closed. Access on Waterfront Drive will be permitted only for taxi and tour operators returning to the Pier Park. Waterfront Drive will reopen once the Jouvert reaches DeCastro Street.

The Ministry of Communications and Works says it apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
