We where there when the men tied their dinghy to the swimming area ropes and started to swim for the beach. Eventually they were pulling themselves in closer to the rocks using the swim area ropes. Shortly later we heard a woman screaming that one swimmer was floating face down in the water. We where there to swim but the beach swim areas where closed and red flags were flying. We felt so helpless but one of the locals bravely jumping in trying to assist. Thoughts and prayers for the young man and his family.

The baths has a spirit of death, every year someone die there.

@ Mrs Juliette. What an irresponsible statement you have made! People die all over the world, whether on vacation or not, when it is their time they will die, including you and I. The only spirit of death is your way of thinking. You make it seem as though the BVI is the entire world, well maybe in your mind, making out like there are evil spirits waiting to kill people. STOP IT, Imbecile!

Was there a lifeguard on duty today? If not, why?
Can’t the government afford to employ lifeguards?
We can afford to pay people $10,000 per month to write politicians speeches and we can’t pay people to save the tourists lives.

Correct, that $5 million set aside for road PATCHING work can be better used to hire lifeguards.

I'm hearing the shores from my house on the hill, muchless for a place like the Baths which gets direct affect from the North Swell. Savanna Bay which is a beach of peace is have been churning for the past week the baths should've been closed. NPT is not doing their work !!!!

Saw many people at Savannah bay yesterday with the waves churning as you say. Will that be closed too. Let's close Cane Garden Bay too. Persons need to heed the safety flags and notifications that are put out daily. If you understood the tourist you will realize they are like BVI people. Noone cN tell them what to do. They think they are laws unto themselves

Taxi drivers need not take the tourists to the North side. All of the beaches on the North are churning up and bringing much seaweed. The churning of the water would frighten even the best surfers and swimmers. Most tourists don't know the dangers of the sea pulling them out. Lifeguards should be there even just to warn people not to go in and if they do, it is at their own risk because even a Lifeguard cannot save them in some of these rough waters.

Someone made a constructive comment and suggestion a weak ago regarding the incident in Smugglers and think that we are not serious about taking care our brand our tourist product,, Why can't Port provide beach Warden to all these popular beaches,, they are the ones collecting the head tax, they have the cash to do that, instead over hiring guards with little or nothing to do,. Let Port provide the Beach warden / life guards..

The reality motto for the BVI should be "Visit at your own risk"

@ perhaps, I think CSC knows he better stop messing with GOD, especially with the fake prophets, etc because he can wind up like that preacher in the States who GOD struck down at the pulpit for using his name in vain.
