ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The home crowd had lots to cheer for when SVA All Stars emerged as champions in the 9-12 Age Group of the first annual Youth Summer Slam Classic Basketball Tournament played this weekend at Multi-purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

SVA All Stars, cheered on by the home fans, including Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), steam-rolled Wadadli Elite Jr of Antigua 40-21 in the final on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

St Croix vs St Thomas

The 13-15 Age Group was an all-US Virgin Islands (USVI) affair as Alliance of St Croix battled The Process of St Thomas.

The Process emerged winners 51-49 in the high intensity game that had seen the scores tied in the fourth quarter.

The tournament, organised by Sports Vision Academy (SVA), received participation from Antigua, St Eustatius, and St Thomas and St Croix in the US Virgin Islands.

    Congratulations BVI 9-12. That means our 13-15 needs work and has to come up to the linguist next time. Great job to the organizers

      The 13-15 yrs olds did a GREAT JOB. They tried their best despite the odds against them and having to play 3 games in one day with 2 of them back to back against tough teams. Very proud of the effort they put in.
