BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – Businesswoman and community activist, Ms Patsy C. Lake said there is too much ingratitude being allowed to fester and grow in the Virgin Islands community even as the Andrew A. Fahie Government has tried to do its best during this very challenging time.

While appearing as a guest on Honestly Speaking with host Claude O. Skelton-Cline on July 22, 2021, Ms Lake drew comparisons to some backlash over the church as an institution being recipients of grant monies as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ingratitude & silence in VI

‘As hard as the government has tried, in every avenue,” she said some in the VI are showing ingratitude amidst the silence of persons not speaking out against critics of the Government.

“I can tell you something else that I was just shocked out of my mind [was] when I heard one person on the radio where they were talking about the distribution of the grant… and the way it was distributed,” she said.

The VI icon said one person questioned monies being given to the churches.

According to Ms Lake, the church is comprised of people of the territory and not of strangers.

“You would think it was a nightclub that they had given this money to… I just couldn’t believe it, looking down on a gift from the church.. who is praying for all of us?” she questioned.

Ingratitude bearing fruit - Ms Lake

Ms Lake said the scenario was one of ‘too much ingratitude” festering and being allowed to grow in the territory.

She said the ingratitude is so much, that some of it is now starting to bear fruit.

“To stay quiet and to do nothing is as big as a sin,” Ms Lake underscored, regarding the silence of those- including herself- who do not speak up for the Government.

The money should have been given in the hands if the poor, not the hands of the greedy money monggering pastors. Did the pastors ensured the vip victory Feb. 20, 2019? No. The majority poor did.
I tell you, some of these are robbing neded norishment from fetus in the wombs of many pregnant women, and use Jesus unjustly. This is a known practical fact that happening in some church circle here in the B.V.I, regularly. You are not ignorant of this fact, neither do many others and me.

I have one request for the COI and the Governor "Look into the residents and belonger status process and address the victimisation", it's a lot going on,. Once they don't hide the Files like they usually do..Too many Innocent poor people are suffering when you have vindictive, spiteful, hateful people incharge of deciding other people's future... This issue ain't no secret. Even some immigration officers with good hearts speak out against it, they know it's going on.. In everything they are always a few real good people with Godly hearts....

Jesus didn't die for No one..he was crucified.. his words interpret from a disciple..the bible was re-writing too many time with different pastor's own interpretations which never studied at a bible school..prove me wrong when I could speak on behalf of my creator..god didn't give man the opportunity to do miracle..he give them the knowledge..you are fighting to be on top when you are only grateful to be below the earth where your name only exists while your deeds follow in the after life.

Church- most own there own buildings.
    Night Club- mojority paus rent.
    Church- has exemption for Everything.
    Night Club- no Exemptions.
Church-net work of other churches worldwide for Assistance.
    Night Club- none
    Church- exemp from Taxes
    Night Club- pays all Taxes
Church- no staff payment Only Pastor with big wages
    Night Club- payroll for Staff.
Church- get most work done free from Church Members
    Night Club- pay for everything.

So who deserving of the Money Church or Night Club PATSY?.

100% correct - Not sure how anyone can make arguments against this. Rather than giving the money to churches and by extension the wealthy pastors, the money would have been better used to provide food packages and utilities reductions for the everyday people that have suffered during these difficult times. How much of the money paid to the churches has actually been used for the benefit of the congregations? I would suggest that the church be made to account for every cent it receives in government aid although as we know from the reaction to the COI, accountability is not a popular stance to have...

There are good pastors among the many money monggering ones. It is wrong to judge them all as money snatching thieves. However, where there ia money, there are thieves, excluding righteous pastors, and righteous church members. In this world, there is not as much as one righteous night club.
Night clubs opperations are the work of the devil.
