ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Top Priority Security Services has once again facilitated a useful and tangible donation, this time, to the Department of Social Development.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, Mr Lesmore Smith, Head of Top Priority Security Services, handed over a donation of essential mobility and care items. These include wheelchairs, walking sticks, mobility aids, and bath chairs.

Aged population has different needs

Mrs Ritzia Turnbull-Smith, who represented the Acting Chief Social Development Officer, expressed her delight at the gesture from Mr Smith and his company.

“We all know that our aged population is increasing, and they have lots of different needs, and each one of these items that are donated can benefit somebody out in the community, some vulnerable person in the community, whether in our residential facility, in our home care program.”

Mrs Turnbull-Smith added that the donation did not come as a surprise as Mr Smith has been a partner of the Social Development Department for many years.

He recently donated an ambulance to Jost Van Dyke.

“He has been a part of us for some time now, and we just thank him for his interest in the aged population…So Mr Smith, again, on behalf of Ms Sherma George, our Acting Chief Social Development Officer, we want to say thank you so much.”

We don’t talk we do

Mr Smith added that it is always a pleasure for him and Top Priority Security Services to give back to the community, especially the seniors.

“We don't talk about seniors, we do for seniors, and most of our community as well.”

The donation was made possible through collaboration with a friend who, Mr Smith said, expressed interest when he informed them of the need.

“He shipped them here to me, and I decided I'm not giving them to anyone else but this Senior Citizen Program…I’m happy to be a part of this community’s constant growth and development, and I will continue to help our young people and our seniors.”

Mr Smith also extended season greetings to everyone.

“On behalf of Top Priority, myself, family, friends, thank you very much and Merry Christmas to all you good people, especially the seniors.”

Another active example of giving back to the community, ie,exemplary corporate social responsibility, not only talking the talk but also walking the walk. Through his contributions, Lesmore is behaving unselfishly and improving the quality of life of seniors. Job well done.

That m3ans you really don't k own anything about Lesmore Smith. This man has Negotiated deals bigger than what any current government minister has done. His connections are far more than most persons in the Caribbean. His obvious ability to get things done individually or in partnership speaks to the trust persons have for him and the integrity he carries within daily. All of you on here who talking about giving employees a raise, I could bet none of you ever had to meet a payroll yet or pay creditors to keep good standings in all aspects. So lay off Lesmore. BTW yes I'm His friend and no he has never helped me financially but his advise is solid. That there is worth solid gold. ????

Virgin Islanders are skilled at tearing down, chewing up, etc, their own, ie, locals while celebrating those coming from above Round Rock, especially the melonin challenged. We are still prisoners of the ‘ Above Round Rock Mentality.’ The Crab-in-Bucket syndrome is well-suited for Virgin Islanders.

Back to Lesmore giving back, ie, his demonstrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Health Care should be one of the top allocation in the budget. It is not. Lesmore is just filling a need, filling a void. Instead of giving a finger, let’s give him a hand, may be two.

If you were born and raised in the BVI and remember who Lesmore is, then you would not be saying that.
