Thrilling opening to Winston Jagpat Memorial Basketball League on VG



In the first game of the night, Ray D. Victor netted a game high 29 points and pulled 10 rebounds to lead Ice Connection to a thrilling win in overtime against Homegrown.
The epic battle ended 94-93 with Ice Connection taking a come from behind win, after trailing 43-48 at half-time.
Nathanial J. Malone aka ‘Nat’ also had a stellar night for Ice Connection, dropping in 23 points, making 5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds.
Homegrown’s valiant challenge were led by Travis A. Issac (21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) and Jolyon Wilson (20 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist).
GameTime too good for DR Power
Game two was between Dominican Republic team DR Power and GameTime.
Gametime controlled the game from tip off to the final whistle, although Dr Power found some strength in the latter half of the game.
The half-time score was GameTime 40, DR Power 28 and the final score 89-72 in favour of GameTime.
Deondre Rymer led the scoring for GameTime with 28 points while Kimron Telemaque knocked down 18 points, made 6 assists, pulled 5 rebounds and effected 3 steals. Telemaque also hit 5 three-pointers.
Top scoring for DR Power was Noel Frias, with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Lenis Fafael and Felix Carabello both had 12 points.
9 teams are participating in the Winston Jagpat Memorial Basketball League, with 6 in the Senior Division and 3 in the Junior Division.
