ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A male driver was rushed to Peebles Hospital following a three vehicle smash up that occurred in the vicinity of the tamarind tree, next to the Road Town Police station around 11:46 am Tuesday December 13, 2011.

Acting Inspector Dariel Robinson told Virgin Islands News Online that the injured man was in stable condition and in shock.

However, he could not give any other information since the police were still conducting their investigation.

The accident raises the question of the necessity for traffic lights to be installed in the area.

Virgin Islands News Online will provide details when they become available.

I think this place need a stop light urgently, and some signs giving directions to turn. indicating who should turn when and how.

I agree with you, the only down side to that is that people are also ignoring the stop lights too.

That place don't need jack sh**. All people need to do is be patient and proceed with caution. People always rushing going no where here in the BVI and don't want to wait long enough to be vigilante of their surroundings.

The north south has the stop signs and east west have the throughway. Signs are there. But really, this needs to be changed to a four way stop or a round about.

This was unfortunate but at least the police was on the seen lol....... The tree needs to be removed there have been more than one accident that has occured there. When you stop by the tree you literally can't see when cars are coming in the direction of Nibbs Auto Sales. It have been there for year but I have been become a nusiance now. The last hurricane or little weather that came the were stuff in the try wires tangled causing a problem. It's either you remove the tree or put an officer there during the day to assist with directing traffic.
