Three Gov’t offices move to remote operations

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – At least three Government offices have moved to provide remote operations in the first working week of 2022, according to a bulletin posted by the Government of the Virgin Islands.

The three departments are the Lands Unit of the Land and Survey Department, the Administration Unit of the Immigration Department, and the Department of Trade.

According to information, the Lands Unit began providing remote services from yesterday, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and will do so until to Friday, January 7 with physical operations resuming on Monday, January 10, 2022.

The Department of Trade began providing limited remote services from Tuesday, January 4 until Friday, January 7, 2022, with Physical operations to resume on Monday, January 10.

Immigration dept resume today 

The Administration Unit of the Immigration Department began providing remote services on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and physical operations is expected to resume sometime today Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

In the interim, persons are being told to contact the Trade Department via email address bvitrade@gov.vg and the Land Department can be contacted via telephone at 468-9028 or email at landregistration@gov.vg.

While it remains unclear why the offices would be operating remotely in the first week of 2022, the VI is at the same time experiencing a COVID-19 spike.
